I am not a Gundy apologist, but can someone elaborate on how he doesn’t play the portal game? We have portal transfer players and it sounds like limited funds. What exactly should have been done differently in the portal for this years team?

Even with better players from the portal, I'm not sure it overcomes this coaching, especially on defense. One doesn't reach the bottom of the FBS on talent deficits alone.

I think the seniors who don’t have a shot at the NFL have come to the realization that their football careers are over and they just don’t care. They aren’t going to make any more money at it. There is no winning for the sake of team pride anymore. It’s all about the money now. Sad!

I think this bunch packed it in after the BYU loss! They thought that they won the game with a minute to go then lose it in the last 13 seconds when BYU marches 75 yards down the field with a minute and I think 15 seconds!

It is all about the money leads me to believe that we might have players betting on games and purposely failing to perform for the benefit of their bank accounts.

I totally believe this. I don’t want to throw accusations around. However, I think the combination of injuries and quit in this team lead me to believe they a throwing games to win bets.

I am tired of this guy who’s last name is a whiskey Jack. He seems to be a quitter and maybe someone is betting. I wouldn’t put it past a QB in the Utah game. The whole situation stinks

Bill Young, Glenn Spencer, and Knowles were old guys. Only one of them was any good, imo.

Bill Young was a very good DC for us.

Also, Gundy isn’t going anywhere unless he wants to. If we’re going to dream about Gundy leaving it’s just as realistic to dream that Kirby Smart will replace him.

I can’t understand how we went from playing in the conference championship game one year to going winless in conference the next year with essentially the same players and coaches while two of the more challenging teams left the conference.

Those 5th and 6th year players got their NIL money and got complacent. OL looks old and lethargic. Looks like they’ve been on a smoke break all since the offseason. Same with the DL.

He's also never run a program and has never coached a day in college. Different structures and rules.

Serious question, because I don't really understand the nuances of NIL, but is there any kind of contract with NIL payments? I'm wondering if wins mean less now to the players as long as they get their $$$. And in that case, what incentives do players have to try hard enough to win?

It just makes me think we need to replace some coaches. I think Gundy is a good coach but not a great CEO. He is trying to protect the people that work for him at the detriment to the program.

no there's not!!! Which lies the problem. Basically a gentleman's agreement and relying on good faith!!
