Official Game Thread: Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State

The joke is people that actually give their own money to public institutions to fund the salaries of coaches.

Sleep well knowing your $1m got you a 3-9 season.

Joke’s on you.
Not really. I've got plenty of money. I'll likely continue to give. And where would we be without people like me? What are you? A remora that does nothing but live off the gifts of others?

Wow a whole ten pages on the game thread. I was listening on the radio while doing shop work.

Course the $24 question why didn’t we play QB 4 Smith about 5 games ago.
I didn't even consider watching this game. I can't / won't support Gundy until he changes his attitude and makes major personnel changes. He has completely killed any motivation to watch on tv or attend games. His approach and attitude literally disgusts me.

One thing is clear to me after watching the game. Recruiting matters. Smith was a high recruit with big time offers and is a True Freshman! I know Texas Tech has a bad defense but I was impressed with how he played and carried himself. He has 10x the arm strength of Bowman and the way he worked through his progressions was like nothing we have seen this season. Too bad the defense is non-existent.

It’s a joke we had to suffer through an entire season of Bowman and didn’t even give Flores a chance to play.

Smith, Flores and Rangel will be quite a competition if we keep all 3. Although Gundy will probably make the wrong decision here as usual.

Flores got hurt early in the season and was trying to heal for quite a while until they decided to do surgery.

Offensively we’ve got some pieces. QB will be good. If Flores is better than what we saw yesterday or Smith takes a big leap forward QB will be a plus. Fields and the Arky RB xfer plus some young talent at wr. I liked that Smith used the middle of the field. Taking slants out of the tree I felt like we threw more over the middle w a true freshman in 1 game than we did in all other games combined. Primarily because of the velocity and trajectory I’m guessing. I do think we need a change at OC and OL.

Defense we have to get edge rushers and LBs. We also have to massively upgrade backend speed. We look like we are running w ankle weights. Also we need a change at DC. Just no feel for the flow of the game.

So…..I’m confused.

I know Rangel and Smith offered some tools. Sure. But did anything change on the oline at all? I just struggle to understand the sheer difference. Especially compared to last year.

Is it as simple as teams had film and knew Bowman was a statue? Are our schemes that easy to defend? Seems like another indictment if that’s the case.

That's also not taking into account the impact that having a functioning downfield passing attack has on a defense.

FIFY.

You had an extra word.

Actually planting on throws helps accuracy and prevent the random throws into the dirt or sailed 10 yards over the WR.
