I’m good with the hire, after reviewing his stats on the dline he actually creates pressure and sacks the QB instead of filling gaps like the 3-3-5.

Also created a ton of turnovers at Louisville.

I think the NIL actually makes it easier to recruit. We should have plenty of money to be competitive

I agree. I think he was fired at Florida during the season. He will probably cost a lot. He was one of the very first DCs to make $1 million/year, with Louisville under Petrino. Just demoted in NO from DL coach to an “advisory” capacity.

This reminds me of when Les hired Bill Clay.

I read somewhere he was fired after a losing streak by Florida where the offense kept turning the ball over, so more of scapegoat.

Course I also read that 3rd down can be sucky with him so who knows.

I’ll admit I have no idea who the guy is, but just based on his age I’m curious if he will be able to relate to the younger players and if he knows anything about the portal.

Or... The rules have changed so much that NCAA is now actually more similar to the pros, so NFL coaches can actually relate MORE to the cfb game than ever before.

Yep, Todd Grantham is the reported DC hire. Current DL coach for the Saints. Lots of SEC experience with Florida, Miss St, Georgia, etc and NFL Dline experience.

He sucks. I don't know how he keeps getting hired.

This is my viewpoint as well. I think we start to see more crossover.

In our case, it's because his scheme starts with the number 3, which seems to be the primary (only?) criteria for Gundy.
