Uh, yes for exactly that reason. No T. Boone, Cecil O’Brate or Sherman Smith remaining. Phil Knight bought himself a #1 team. Boone could as well but sadly he’s gone. No amount of small donor base can match what these big money boosters are doing at other schools and we no longer have one. The most encouraging development in all of this mess is the redirection of a large portion of Gundy‘s salary to NIL. That might make us at least somewhat competitive. Last place in NIL money and last place in the Big 12, there’s a direct correlation that no amount of great coaching can make up for.

IMO honest opinion I hope we tank at recruiting, struggle again until he snaps on the national level and leads positive change across the board. Saban just retired. Mack just retired. I see Mike retiring in the next 3 years. Just be the change everyone wants to see because this NIL/portal crap is absurd

Plus he is floating the millions in seed money to build that US Olympic wrestling training facility that sealed the deal on getting David Taylor to OSU! There is one in State College next to the Penn State campus that has catapulted them to the dominant program in the sport! 🤔

The comment about Venables was strange. He may very well get fired next season. I do agree he made the right move to get rid of Luttrell and it paved the way for the good OC hire, and Gundy waited too long and made a ho-hum hire, but.....why even mention what OU is doing?

Also, Chandler Morris recently visited. It sounds as though were are definitely trying to get a veteran QB in the portal. OU isn't guaranteed to get Mateer, he hasn't even entered the portal yet. Otherwise, OU hasn't done much; and neither have we.

Sorry chairman but that is BS! Gundy had Grantham and the first choice for OC hired late Thursday early Friday before that whole fiasco on Friday! Robert Allen pretty much confirmed what I heard on Saturday on his show on Tuesday when he went on one of his rants about this whole process and the hiring of the coordinators! Grantham stuck with OSU but the first, second and THIRD CHOICES SAID NO WAY WERE THEY COMING TO BE O COIRDINATOR AFTER WHAT OCCURRED! It is what it is! 😶‍🌫️

??? I was commenting on your bringing up Venables at a random time, and how another poster said you are obsessed with OU. I think what you said about losing some OC's is true, wasn't arguing that point at all.

Who was the first choice for OC?
 
Is this “hiring” new coaches a scapegoat to remove former coaches without public acknowledgment? These twitter announcements allow guys to be canned with zero media questions? Seems like he’s been trying to protect the whole staff from public eye.
