Sorry - but this is getting tiresome and embarrassing to me. I have been a Gundy supporter throughout his entire career. I've rolled my eyes anyone on OP or otherwise has called for his job. I've been incredibly proud of what he has done for our school over the years.

But to stand up in front of the media today and say "well, who would you bench out of those three?".... bro, we dont get paid $5m a year to make, an admittedly, difficult decision. Do your job!

How can the rest of the team believe him when he says "every game, every practice, every situation just do your job and we will be OK", when he clearly is NOT doing his job?

I dont know what the answer is to who should start QB. But I am a person sitting behind a keyboard. He is the head coach of a Big 12 football program. It aint supposed to be easy, Coach. But thats why you get paid the money. Make a decision and stop acting as if your justified because the competition is so close.

I sure wish Spencer Sanders didn't transfer. I get it tho. He's not going to the NFL, and so he probably received much more NIL than OSU could ever hope to achieve..well, that may change in the future.. But, without Boone Pickens, fundraising will continue to be increasingly difficult.

QB recruiting has been an absolute disaster ever since Mike Yurcich left. I remember on Orange power, so many posts wanted Yurcich out of here. Yeah, that didn't turn out too well. The offense is nosediving straight into the ground and full-speed ahead.

I'm a huge fan of Mike Gundy. After all, 17 straight winning seasons has been one helluva fun ride. Be honest here... who in the world ever thought OSU would achieve the unbelievable success Gundy has bestowed upon Stillwater, with unwavering dedication? Gundy has had plenty job offers along the way. And sure, his then agent (I'm not sure if Gundy still has an agent) used such offers to increase Gundy's salary. That's status quo,.tho.

I do have a criticism... Gundy has been hiring assistant coaches (specifically OC and DC) from pee wee league. I get it tho. Gundy wants stability and long -term employees. That's a terrific strategy. On the other hand, there's a massive drawback... recruiting is all about who you know. In Big 12 league, Gundy doesn't hire coaches for their "pipeline" ability. With the exception of Holgerson, Gundy simply refuses to hire from Texas ties even this Texas is the most important recruiting ground and 2nd place isn't even remotely close. That's why we bring in top 45 ranked classes, instead.of top.25-35

Yurcich won the lottery recruiting Mason Rudolph. Gundy gets full credit for Spencer. Gundy recruited Sanders harder than all other QB's combined since Gundy became HC. And then... poof. Gundy slammed on the brakes and simply refuses to aggressively recruit QB's. And now we're seeing the side-effect of refusing to recruit QB'S. We have QB's who should be bench riders their entire four years unless a miracle happens.

I really wish Gundy would beging hiring coordinators from Texas,.those with strong Texas ties. Gundy depends on Denton, Texas and that's it.

I simply do not know which QB on campus should be the full-time starter. It's not good. I'll still support Gundy and Oklahoma State. I bleed orange. And damn it, I'll be damned before I ever lose the tiniest shred of dedication I harbor toward OSU and Gundy.

Until the last breath I'll ever take... Oklahoma State football, all the way.

Personally, I think it's an experiment. Look how hard it is to keep a good second string quaterback on campus. How many teams last year got QB1 hurt and had noone behind them due to the portal. Everybody right now is trying to figure out how to keep good bench players on campus. My theory is, Gundy is using the non conference games as preseason games to get as many people reps as possible. Plus, the last 2 games, our skill players are fresher in the 4th than the other teams. I'm hoping thats a trend.

That's a dumb philosophy if that were true. There are plenty of schools that have good backup qb. Heck, last year, TCU's backup led them to the national title game and was Heisman runner-up. OSU hasn't had a good backup in along time because of poor recruiting and because Gundy didn't foster any competition for Spencer Sanders. Sanders was his guy and he rode with him even when he shouldn't have.

To bad Sanders didn’t see that

Not much NIL for a 3rd string qb. Maybe he’s 2nd, who cares….

One of the unexpected benefits of the QB rotation is the publicity. People are talking about it. Seems like the Tulsa World has us on the front page of the sports section. All the talk show host want to give their 2 cents. Kind of funny, as long as we win. Then it will kind of suck

what about Zane Flores?! is he not even considered in this discussion? did I miss something here?!

“He’s not ready.” Aka, he’d probably win the job which apparently Gundy doesn’t want. He doesn’t want a clear winner. He’s hell bent on playing these three guys.

is it possible that Gundy thought this 3 way QB system would work so good that people would say, "wow, didn't realize this could work, but it did...Gundy is a trend setter."...and now that it's not working, is too stubborn to change?!...

He’s intent on playing one of three but doesn’t have the testicular fortitude to do it.
This is the correct answer. Mike thinks so highly of himself that he thought he could sneak his son into a starting role and no one would be the wiser. He knows that if he came out and made him the starter it would cause problems, but if he plays the others and they stink (because they're not getting reps), then it would be okay to play Gunnar.

I don't think it is that insidious. I think Gundy has a history of waffling on QB decisions when the race isn't 100% clear in practice. In the past a guy came in and asserted themselves in a game, but these guys aren't going to do that. Gundy just has to pick someone and let them have the reps, but he is afraid to make the "wrong" decision and in doing so is making the worst decision.

Analysis paralysis.
