Bill Young was actually a very good DC during his tenure in Stillwater. The defense vastly improved every year. For whatever reason, Gundy fired Young immediately after the year OSU's defense was ranked in the top 30.

He was a very good coach. A good guy too.

It was constant. Our D got burnt for big plays a ton that year. I'm shocked a good fan like you doesn't remember.

Sure, we were nailed on big plays, but usually they were runs up the middle with no support from the linebackers and secondary. I don’t remember a single play, where we let a guy run down field all alone.

Now that I think of it, I can’t remember a team letting a receiver run down the field, all alone like that in any football game at any level.

Cool. Obviously not going to look stuff up during the game. Point remains, one of the best DCs in the country struggled his first year in the Big 12. Nardo should be fine.
