Changes Need to be Made

Neal Brown fired at WVU after 6-6 season and losing to Tech yesterday. Wren Baker, AD at WVU and OSU grad is apparently serious about football. Chad, take note…

So we going to fire someone?

According to my exhaustive research I just conducted, Brown’s buyout was less than $10m. If that was Gundy’s cost, it might be considered.

Additionally, since Gundy has acknowledged that he was against going out and “buying” players (I can’t remeber his exact quote) but now he will, he’s gonna act like a drunken sailor on shore leave. We are gonna need a big bankroll for his petulance.

By the time we move to fire coaches any decent available replacements will already be hired or signed a new extension.

Makes the search for replacements easier on Gundy when all the big programs have already had their choice and we won't have to possibly compete with anyone.

Look at the other programs moving quickly, WV has fired the HC, Florida State has their new OC, Utah has their new OC, supposedly ou has there’s and will be naming by tomorrow. These are teams that finished the season yesterday. This is another case of Gundy and the OSU admin operating behind the times of NIL and the portal.

Our coordinators should already be let go, they should have known that weeks ago, and searches/talks should have been ongoing. We need to be naming new coordinators as soon as the portal opens to attract players. No one is going to commit to a school that is lollygagging and doesn’t know who their coordinator will be.

Gundy won't do anything until the coaches convention, it is bad form to do so before then. More probable is no changes are to be made. Miracle of miracles would be Gundy resigning or being fired.

What are the odds OSU doesn’t get a new OC or DC? Would they actually bring back the whole staff next year?
That would be career suicide for all parties with any involvement with the program in my opinion. Weiberg would be gone for accepting complacency and allowing the fan base to lose faith in the program that provides a profit and Shrum would be questioned for not pushing Weiberg to do his job.

Gundy has made over $100 million off of the university. He’s got ultimate FU money. Gundy doesn’t have to fire anyone if he doesn’t want to and there’s nothing Chad or Shrum can do about it. It’s getting more and more likely no one is getting fired…

Yeah. I don't think that's how an athletic department works. I'm pretty sure ALL coaches are employed by the Athletic Department and can therefore be hired/fired by the AD at his discretion. Gundy's paycheck doesn't give him positional authority over the AD.

Gundy is still a university employee, if Weiberg and Shrum don’t do their job the regents will

Gundy’s buyout has the Athletic Department over a barrel. This is one of those “it’s the bank’s problem” situations. I don’t think Weiberg has the stones to make that gamble.

It has the whole university over a barrel. If the situation isn’t dealt with appropriately it will affect more than athletics

It’s an awful situation if Gundy wants to be an azz about this. The fact that no personnel has been booted does not bode well for how the behind the scenes is going.
