Changes Need to be Made

We have 0 and I mean absolutely no balls. We are not serious about the football program. We are letting gundy dictate this so we won’t have any good options. This is BS.
Agreed. This has the appearance of really weak, passive leadership across the board (including Gundy himself). This is concerning.

Luck will be the top dog at Stanford football. Kenyatta is still reporting to Gundy from what I can tell, unless you inform me otherwise.

All I’m trying to illustrate is that Stanford’s move is a complete departure from the traditional football coaching staff hierarchy. And I believe a move like this is the only way we find a competitive edge in the cfb landscape going forward.

For the record, I cannot comment on Kenyatta’s performance. He could be doing a great job for all I know. I am in no way bringing those folks into question.

I’m a bad fan cuz I didn’t even know Wright was involved in the program. What exactly does he do, how long has he been there and who hired him?

Sparse info on the website. But from what I can tell he is in charge of handling our NIL strategy. @OSUPSYCHO probably can shed more light on the actual duties.

Below is our personnel department, if you'd even call it that. The titles of Prospect Analyst intrigue me.

Kenyatta's position is like a front office job in the NFL. He works with the coaching staff as well as with Todd Bradford and the recruiting staff. He is over the NIL stuff but pretty much all player finance stuff.

I'm saying that the lack of announcements is concerning, and reinforces a general concern that Gundy is driving the bus.
Yes, if Chad is allowing him either not make significant changes or do it on his terms, quietly not firing anyone, then he’s got no stones and has to go. Is he going to allow Gundy handle these like Greg Richmond last year where there is no announcement and then we hire someone randomly a couple months down the road? Even worse is he being allowed to keep either of these coordinators? Talk about a dumpster fire. It’s been 3 days now since the season ended, the local media types are already talking the morning about “what the heck is going on at OSU”? Do your job ADCW, Gundy reports to you not the other way around.

Appreciate the info you provide my guy. I'd be super interested in a bit of an org chart, as the website info is pretty sparse, probably by design (trade secrets and all).

A bit of an anecdote, but I was offered a job at the Cowboy's front office in 2018. Was incredibly excited about the role and possibility to work in the finance/operations department. They gave me the offer and I had to do a double take at the pay. It was $40k, half of what I made coming out of OSU in 2014. CFO was an OSU grad too, I was like, "are you serious with this?" Jerry wouldn't let him budge on any of it because "working for the Cowboys has equity." But I say this as a cautionary tale. The orgs that devote the most to player personnel and development are the highest caliber programs in the pros. The 30 year drought of the Cowboys is 100% attributable to a dysfunctional and under invested front office. Coaches and players don't win championships, programs/organizations do.

Agreed, the pro’s have been about having a great front office for decades now. The Bengals were a total aberration to make the SB a few years back, you simply don’t see teams with bad front offices winning championships.

I forget who the coach was, but the Jets were interviewing someone, maybe Eberflus, for HC a few years back. They flew the guy to NY in COACH. Just such a Jets thing to do.

That day has now arrived in college and I’m sorry, but we need a visionary leader like Terry Don at this time.

I hope that in the future, the administration can be smarter with their contracts. Future agreements need to offer a competitive base with a focus on incentives/achievements to boost compensation to the next level. No rolling renewals or 10 year deals. It needs to go both ways. I don't care if Saban showed up on our doorstep, still applies. If OSU is so short on funds as so many people imply, then we need to be more responsible in this area. More venting...Like Boynton earned that last extension?
Our admin and Gundy both need to learn that at the college level if someone is trying to poach your coach (HC or assistants) that’s a good thing and nothing you can do contractually or otherwise will prevent that from happening EXCEPT when you have incompetence in those roles and nobody wants them. Even OU found out there’s always greener pastures. Unless your coach is a head coach in the NFL, he is always at risk of leaving. The only thing the deal we gave Gundy guaranteed was complacency on his part. It was inevitable.

Not sure where the $80K entry level job was but, the amount offered was standard across the university. To increase it would change the whole pay structure of the university. Athletics is just a side hustle to the whole university operation.

Athletics has been an auxiliary department for the University for years. Unless that’s changed, it’s salary structure does not fall under the same umbrella as the rest of campus.

should have clarified. I've just gotten into a habit of referring to our team here as OSU, and the wanton NFL franchise in Dallas as "the Cowboys". That way my fellow Dallasites know what I'm talking about in conversation.
Nope, totally my fault. As was pointed out...all the information was in the post. I should have waited until after noon to have my first scotch!
