Trump 2024 Run Thread

Only person to blame for why it's taking so long is Willis herself and the BS personal life she allowed to interfere with her work life. She should have already recused herself long ago and got far away

The evidence in this case is VERY bad for Trump and there is A LOT of it and many folks have already made pleas to testify against him that were also involved

ANY prosecutor could win this case.....Willis is damaging the credibility of it all because she wants the glory for it and is refusing to step aside when it is very clear she should have
If her office steps out it gets sent to another district... probably a strongly red district/DA that would drop charges or decline to prosecute.

Sorry. Listed it above. “Media Bias Chart” is a trademarked name from Ad Fontes Media.

Another one: Media Bias Fact Check: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/meidastouch/
I'm not smart enough to find it on the first one, or I would have to pay. I think it is pretty impossible to get news with no bias. I think it is important to use a variety of sources, avoid the extremes, and have an understanding of the inherent biases of what you read. I am too busy to read a lot. I tend to stick to the NYT and the WSJ.

ProPublica: Trump Team Rewarding Witnesses in Ex-President’s Criminal Cases

ProPublica has revealed Donald Trump’s businesses and campaign committees have given significant financial benefits to at least nine witnesses in the various criminal cases against the former president, in what legal experts say could amount to witness tampering. ProPublica reports one campaign aide had his salary doubled; another received a $2 million severance package barring him from voluntarily cooperating with law enforcement.

This comes as Donald Trump has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to annul his guilty verdict in New York

daily I look at CNN (left perspective), FoxNews (right perspective), and then BBC and Reuters for my middle perspectives.

Trump’s prosecution was “as bad as it was in Alabama in 1950, if a person happened to be Black, in order to get justice,” GOP attorney general candidate Dan Bishop said.

Not my pick for President. 80 years ago my Dad flew his first two missions over France ,for the most part , to stop fascism in its tracks. Please don’t allow these soldiers blood to become meaningless by embracing a man who embraces autocrats and fascism. Calls soldiers suckers, and says only soldiers not captured are hero’s. Dad said he knew we’d win when he saw all the ships heading to Normandy. It won’t take that much of an effort to keep these radicals out of office if everyone gets everyone to vote. Please do your part to honor the sacrifices made to keep this country a democratic republic .Our right to vote is critical.

The thing I really care about is quality and fact based reporting. Everything else is more trivial. No matter the source, there is a level of bias. Bias is far easier to account for and even negate in that event, especially if it is consistent in nature.

So far we have the Trump org itself. Its CEO. Its cfo. It’s general counsel. All guilty of breaking the law. Trump and his children save Tiffany and Barron are forbidden from operating a charity in NY.

Trump has said he will fire generals. Their replacements will be those loyal to him. He’s called past war heros idiots and suckers.

Given his inability to lead and pick leaders…

In what world does a military built and run by this guy ever be successful? Even if he does step down after this term should he win how will our military recover?

Seriously. Look at every dictator going back a century. Does their military ever win long term?

Let’s just leave economics out of it for now. How does US fare long term if he follows through w his plans for the military? What happens to military recruitment if we have another Trump presidency?

World history isn’t favorable to people and civilizations that follow this path.

I don’t think this is being thought of enough.

Other than Fox News being on in every ready room and GOP thought of traditionally as the more military friendly party, I don't understand how anyone on active duty supports him.

Nother one going to jail

Judge orders Steve Bannon to report to prison on July 1 for contempt of Congress sentence

WASHINGTON — A federal judge on Thursday ordered former Trump adviser Steve Bannon to report to prison on July 1 to begin a four-month prison sentence for defying subpoenas from the Jan. 6 Committee after a higher court rejected his appeal.

Bannon was found guilty on two counts of contempt of Congress in July 2022 for defying the committee’s subpoenas, but his sentence had been put on hold while he appealed the case. U.S. District Judge Carl said Thursday he did not believe that the “original basis” for his stay of the imposition of Bannon's sentence existed any longer after an appeals court upheld Bannon's conviction. Bannon could still appeal Nichol’s ruling that he must report to prison.

Bannon was sentenced more than a year and a half ago, in October 2022, to four months behind bars, the same sentence currently being served by former Trump adviser Peter Navarro, who also refused to comply with a Jan. 6 Committee subpoena.

“The defendant chose allegiance to Donald Trump over compliance with the law," Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Gaston, who now serves on special counsel Jack Smith's team, told jurors during closing arguments in 2022.

Bannon's sentence was put on hold pending appeal, and his lawyers made their case to a three-judge federal appeals court panel in November. The appeals court upheld Bannon's conviction in May, and federal prosecutors soon filed a motion asking Nichols to order Bannon to report to prison. Federal prosecutors told Nichols there was "no legal basis" for the continued stay of the sentence after the federal appeals court rejected the appeal.

Bannon’s lawyers argued that the sentence should be stayed until they appeal it to the full appeals court and the Supreme Court. Any delay, of course, would benefit Bannon if Trump is elected president in November and decides — just as he did on the last day of his presidency on Jan. 20, 2021 — to pardon Bannon on federal criminal charges.

Bannon smiled as he went through security to enter the courthouse Thursday morning. A person nearby said “Trump ‘24!” to him and Bannon smiled and shook his hand.

Following the judge’s decision, he looked calm and stayed smiling. Bannon's lawyer, David Schoen, sprung into action, becoming much more passionate than he’d been during the rest of the hearing.

Judge Nichols told him: “One thing you have to learn as a lawyer is that when the judge has made his decision, you don’t stand up and start yelling,” adding through Schoen’s protests: “I’ve had enough.”

“I’m not yelling,” Schoen retorted, saying he was “passionate.”

“You’re sending a man to prison who thought he was complying with the law, we don’t do that in my system,” Schoen said, calling the decision “contrary to our system of justice.”

“I think you should sit down,” Nichols responded.

Nichols, a Trump appointee, has overseen a number of Jan. 6 cases. He's the judge who rejected the government's use of an obstruction of an official proceeding charge, which has been used against hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants, as well as Trump himself. That case ultimately bubbled up to the Supreme Court, which heard oral arguments on the use of the statute in April. On Wednesday, Nichols sentenced a Jan. 6 defendant who assaulted law enforcement officers with bear spray — and who was caught thanks to a sting operation that a woman launched on the dating app Bumble — to more than six years in federal prison.

Not only that but America First is the exact opposite of what he’s openly talking about doing. He is outright saying that he is going to protect himself w loyalists. Qualifications, experience, intelligence and leadership abilities are secondary. Look at his own leadership characteristics. Outside of grift/monetary inducement or intimidation, what qualities does he possess or inspire that would be reflected in the leaders he would promote? What has he done outside of con people that when the sh!+ starts flying he will make the right decisions for the long term benefit of America. When under pressure has he made a good decision and damn the blowback stuck by it?

Even our 2 resident Magastanis on here admit he has no moral integrity. So why is it better for the US to put in charge of defending us a man with

1) No morals
2) Professed disdain for military
3) No real success without cheating
4) No proven success at hiring/inspiring/retaining good leaders or decision makers

When in the last 125 years has that worked long term for any country?

It is just sheer insanity that people would vote for this guy. Doesn’t mean you like Biden but if trump wins and follows through he will set back our military by at least a decade.
