Trump calls Jan. 6 defendants ‘warriors’ the hill

Former President Trump defended his supporters who rioted at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and called them “warriors” at a Nevada rally on Sunday.

“Those J6 warriors – they were warriors – but they were really, more than anything else, they’re victims of what happened,” Trump said at the rally, speaking to a crowd of supporters.

“All they were doing is protesting a rigged election. That’s what they were doing,” Trump continued, repeating his false claims that the 2024 presidential election was rigged against him.

Trump also falsely claimed police welcomed rioters into the Capitol and, Trump said, told the rioters, “Go in, go in, go in, go in.”

“What a set up that was,” Trump added. “What a horrible, horrible thing, and you know, that blows two ways, that blows two ways, believe me.”

Trump and his supporters have at times sought to recharacterize the Jan. 6 riots as peaceful. In reality, however, about 140 officers were injured, and five died in the days after the attack. One Capitol Police officer likened the scene to a “war zone” and recounted, before a congressional committee, slipping in other people’s blood as she engaged in “hand-to-hand combat” for hours.

Trump, in the past, has used similar words to describe those jailed over their actions during the Jan. 6 attack. In November 2023, Trump referred to them as “hostages.”

He also said in March that, if reelected in November, one of his first tasks will be to “Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!”

As of Jan. 6, 2024, more than 1,200 defendants had been charged in connection to the attack on the Capitol. More than 450 have been charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding officers or employees, according to the Justice Department.

More than 700 individuals have pleaded guilty to various federal charges, the Justice Department said.

MAGA disciples chant obscenity in child-filled church to defend corrupt Trump

If you missed Donald Trump's sermon at a Phoenix church yesterday, here's the highlight:

"I don't like using the word 'bulls**t' in front of these beautiful children, so I won't say it," Trump declared, pointing to the offspring of his loyal disciples in the audience.

But instead of shielding their little ones from the horrors of explicit language in a house of worship, the congregation did what any group of very stable geniuses would do: they started chanting "BULLS**T! BULLS**T! BULLS**T!" in unison.

I guess to the church people it's still an obscene act for teachers to teach comprehensive sex education in the schools. That is only for the parents to do. If they don't, then kids end up learning about sex from other kids, such as learning what the word fu*k means. Farm kids might be good to teach that.

Trump vows to ‘never ban TikTok’ in strongest statement yet on Chinese-owned social media giant

Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok
INFRASTRUCTURE & TECHNOLOGY

Issued on: August 6, 2020

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, find that additional steps must be taken to deal with the national emergency with respect to the information and communications technology and services supply chain declared in Executive Order 13873 of May 15, 2019 (Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain). Specifically, the spread in the United States of mobile applications developed and owned by companies in the People’s Republic of China (China) continues to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. At this time, action must be taken to address the threat posed by one mobile application in particular, TikTok.

TikTok, a video-sharing mobile application owned by the Chinese company ByteDance Ltd., has reportedly been downloaded over 175 million times in the United States and over one billion times globally. TikTok automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users, including Internet and other network activity information such as location data and browsing and search histories. This data collection threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information — potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage.

TikTok also reportedly censors content that the Chinese Communist Party deems politically sensitive, such as content concerning protests in Hong Kong and China’s treatment of Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities. This mobile application may also be used for disinformation campaigns that benefit the Chinese Communist Party, such as when TikTok videos spread debunked conspiracy theories about the origins of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus.

These risks are real. The Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, and the United States Armed Forces have already banned the use of TikTok on Federal Government phones. The Government of India recently banned the use of TikTok and other Chinese mobile applications throughout the country; in a statement, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology asserted that they were “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.” American companies and organizations have begun banning TikTok on their devices. The United States must take aggressive action against the owners of TikTok to protect our national security.

Accordingly, I hereby order:

Section 1. (a) The following actions shall be prohibited beginning 45 days after the date of this order, to the extent permitted under applicable law: any transaction by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, with ByteDance Ltd. (a.k.a. Zìjié Tiàodòng), Beijing, China, or its subsidiaries, in which any such company has any interest, as identified by the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) under section 1(c) of this order.

(b) The prohibition in subsection (a) of this section applies except to the extent provided by statutes, or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted before the date of this order.

(c) 45 days after the date of this order, the Secretary shall identify the transactions subject to subsection (a) of this section.

Sec. 2. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, causes a violation of, or attempts to violate the prohibition set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Sec. 3. For the purposes of this order:

(a) the term “person” means an individual or entity;
(b) the term “entity” means a government or instrumentality of such government, partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization, including an international organization; and

(c) the term “United States person” means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 4. The Secretary is hereby authorized to take such actions, including adopting rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to me by IEEPA as may be necessary to implement this order. The Secretary may, consistent with applicable law, redelegate any of these functions within the Department of Commerce. All departments and agencies of the United States shall take all appropriate measures within their authority to implement this order.

Sec. 5. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

Trump questions if ‘unusually beautiful’ Taylor Swift is ‘legitimately liberal’ or it’s ‘just an act’ the hill

Former President Trump is questioning whether Taylor Swift is “legitimately liberal” or if it’s “just an act,” wondering aloud about the “Shake it Off” superstar’s political beliefs.

“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful!” Trump replied when asked about Swift, according to the forthcoming book, “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” from Variety co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh.

In an excerpt released Monday in Variety, Trump said of Swift, “I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump.”

“But she is liberal, or is that just an act?” he asked Setoodeh.

“She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal,” Trump said, before the author noted that Swift crossed over to pop music years ago.

Despite dominating the charts — earlier this year, Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” became her 14th album to top the Billboard 200 — Trump wouldn’t exactly describe himself as a Swiftie.

“Don’t know it well,” he said of the “Eras” performer’s music.

“I hear she’s very talented,” the 45th president said of the 34-year-old songwriter, before repeating his praise for her appearance.

“I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!”

A Swift representative didn’t respond to ITK’s request for comment about Trump’s remarks.

The entertainer broke a careerlong near-virtual silence about politics in 2018 to endorse two Democrats competing in a Tennessee House and Senate race. She’s been critical of Trump in the past, accusing him in 2019 of “gaslighting the American public.”

My wife asked what was gross so I read her the quote ....she was like "That's creepy"

Republican Senate Candidate and former Trump appointed diplomat accuses Trump of taking bribes for endorsements after Trump endorsed his opponent

Dr. Jeff Gunter, a Senatorial candidate in Tuesday's Republican primary, lashed out after Trump endorsed opponent Sam Brown by claiming on social media and to the New York Times he could produce evidence the former president had been bribed.

"Sadly, the suspicions many of us have had about 'endorsements' are being confirmed," Gunter wrote on X Monday.

Gunter, who served as the then-president's ambassador to Iceland, claimed Trump was torn between "fearless MAGA warriors" who wanted to prevent him from endorsing Brown and a well-funded National Republican Senate Committee who sent him a "big check" from "the swamp."

While Gunter claimed this explained Trump's late-night Truth Social endorsement, NRSC spokesperson Mike Berg had another theory, the Times reports.

"Jeff Gunter has become totally unglued," Berg told the Times, "and is making false, defamatory accusations against N.R.S.C. and President Trump’s team.”

Trump's campaign put it in blunter terms, via an X spat between Gunter and the former president's senior adviser Chris LaCivita.

"You have a habit of making up c---," LaCivita responded to Gunter's claim. "President Trump makes his own decisions and this is another example of him choosing wisely."

When the Times asked for evidence "the swamp" bought Trump's endorsement, Gunter's campaign first replied "stay tuned," then stopped responding to questions.
