Trump agreesI don't see the positive to ending DOE at the federal level. It just gives states full control over setting education requirements... So if people move or want to go to college out of state do states acknowledge and accept diplomas from all other states? I could scenario's where a state that values education doesn't accept diplomas from a state where public education is a train wreck.
Forced to do better or will further prove they don't care about actual education and will instead continue certain trends like claiming slavery wasn't bad, or teach religion based science and history... you know things already being seen in some states but now without the chance for the fed gov to limit it.Trump agrees
“I want to close up Department of Education, move education back to the states," Trump, the Republican nominee, said in an interview with Elon Musk on Monday night. "If you moved education back to the 50 [states], you'll have some that won't do well…but they'll actually be forced to do better, because it'll be a pretty bad situation."

Closing the DoE is another dog whistle to MAGA and evangelicals. What he really means is that he knows what’s in Project 2025 and wants to kill the DoE along w Title 1 money. OK is slated to receive $225,000,000 in Title 1 money this school year. Want more proof these clowns know and are coordinating? It’s the money schools are complaining about that Walters has not told them how much each district will receive.this is one of the many ideas that confuses me...what does it benefit to 'close' the DOE?! what would that do to a little ole state like OK?!...
My wife is a Title 1 instructor at a high poverty rate school, so her paycheck is federally funded. So yeah, the last couple of years haven't been stressful at ALL for us... It's been pretty awesome for my wife to be entering every summer wondering "is my job going to exist in August?" and even having to text her principal the week before contract to make sure her position was still safe.Closing the DoE is another dog whistle to MAGA and evangelicals. It can be used for a host of things but it will have the most impact on rural and school districts w poor student populations. It will eliminate after school programs like tutoring. It could impact special education and students w disabilities. Ultimately it will increase student teacher ratios.
I’m all for more local control but do we really trust Oklahoma politicians to act in a students best interest. Especially when that student is already at risk.
I probably go a step further. If you deport 20MM people or even a fraction of that and force the remaining to go into hiding, where are you going to get workers? You need workers willing to do the hard jobs. Well if you don’t educate your masses, you have millions of non skilled laborers simply by cutting education funding.
Trump will reign as the World's Sorest Loser until the day he dies.Sen. Bernie Sanders says Trump's lies about AI-generated crowds at Vice President Harris' Michigan rally are "laying the groundwork for rejecting the election results if he loses."
"If you can convince your supporters that thousands of people who attended a televised rally do not exist, it will not be hard to convince them that the election returns in Pennsylvania, Michigan and elsewhere are 'fake' and 'fraudulent.'"

We don't need an idiot's help in regulating money when he couldn't keep his casino from going bankrupt.Former President Donald Trump says if reelected, he wants a more direct role in how the Federal Reserve sets interest rates and suggested he could break with traditional policies when it comes to the Fed’s independence. https://to.pbs.org/4dIRDlA
Let’s see. A guy has over $500,000,000 in debt. Owes near another $500,000,000 in legal judgements. Will rack up millions in legal fees.We don't need an idiot's help in regulating money when he couldn't keep a casino from going bankrupt.
The Fed put in strict securities ownership rules in 2021 for the Fed governors and senior officials to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Something makes me think that Trump would not be planning on following those rules himself if given control over interest rates.Let’s see. A guy has over $500,000,000 in debt. Now why would such a person want control of interest rates?
Of all the concerning things he’s said over the years, this is by far the scariest. We already have a substantial debt problem. Blowing up the dollar as a stable currency would destroy us. Giving Trump the reigns to currency valuation only to use for his short term benefit is a disaster for anyone that has to govern in the wake. The Fed put in strict securities ownership rules in 2021 for the Fed governors and senior officials to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Oh, yeah, Trump did say while president that going with negative interest rates could be a good idea to stimulate his economy. It might make people spend more of their savings. I wonder how many people who love Trump would love to have new charges added on to their checking account when formerly it was free and making a little bit of interest.Of all the concerning things he’s said over the years, the is by far the scariest.
