Tim Walz Harris VP Pick

Wsj take on Tim

While Tim Walz is considered the most liberal choice among Kamala Harris’s top candidates, his tenure in the House has shown a more complex politician.

He won the “Top Gun Democrat” award at the annual congressional clay shooting competition and had an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association, but also backed abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

Walz stops his speech to make sure this person was taken care of. It's nice seeing a politician actually care about people.

Contrast to Trump in similar conditions.
"By the way, isn't that breeze nice? Do you feel the breeze? Cuz I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you, I just want your vote, I don't care."-Trump in Vegas in June

Can you quote those stories? Can you provide ANY evidence that he was, as you say, only a Master Sergeant or that his record was "corrected" to show he never achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major? I'd like to see it. Otherwise, you're just blowing smoke.

It's seems you're buying into some Magastani BS right now.

The facts are he served as a Command Sergeant Major. He was promoted to that position. He held that position. He was a Command Sergeant Major during his service to the country.

This was written in 2018. I'm posting this as information as I saw it posted. I'm curious why it is labeled "Paid letter" yet doesn't say specifically who paid.

Might want to look into Thomas Behrend’s social media. He is MAGA through and through. He was also Walz’s replacement in the battalion who ended up getting deployed.

So two guys in a paid endorsement letter.

Like I said….Donny falling for MAGAstani disinformation.

And even that reflects he was conditionally promoted and served as a Command Sergeant Major. He was a Command Sergeant Major. This “stolen valor” nonsense is exactly that…nonsense.

I know you aren’t arguing on behalf of these two guys. I appreciate the information.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I just posted it because you asked.

The idea that it is even a concern is preposterous given that the worst-case scenario is that he was eligible for retirement, got told a deployment was going to occur, so went ahead and retired. A deployment can destroy your life. I was deployed with an Orthopedic surgeon who had a great job lined up to start as soon as his service commitment was up in three months. Well, instead they deployed him and kept him over there for 7 months and he lost the job.

And honestly, does this even matter with the alternative? I mean, if it was a Jimmy Carter on the other side looking for "dirt" like this could make sense. But, the other choice is a porn-star banging, p#$$^ grabbing, teen-peagent leering guy who got a "bone spur" diagnosis from a podiatrist who leased an office from his father to avoid service. Is any of this even slightly relevant???????

I edit my post to reflect that I understood and appreciated that you were posting it for information purposes.

I agree with everything else you said.

It's one of those things that gets brought up kinda randomly by Republicans but the general public hasn't seemed to care about. He doesn't seem to talk about his service much-not saying it's a good or bad thing, just something he doesn't seem to hang his hat on. As a politician in the state I'd say he pushed his teaching career more than he did his military service.

Honestly thinking about it, in the area I live if there was anything fishy there people wouldn't shut up about it. He kinda gets the Klobuchar treatment-no one can really knock him on anything except for the letter in front of his name so that is what they focus on. He did legitimately turn my district purple during his time in Congress and I don't see it voting anything but red in the near future.

So having personally left Active duty (after my contract ended), I have a small opinion on this and my experience may not match his own based on comparisin of Navy officer in mid 2010s to Army Nat Guard senior enlisted a decade before.

I was prevented from leaving active duty on the timeline I requested and held at my command for almost 6 months due to lack of backfill. If the Army wanted him to remain, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have let him leave when they did.

He didn't complete the course and therefore did not owe 2 years, he left the program and the service via Army approved retirement. In my experience it was a 6-12 month lead time to exit the service, so if he was out in May '05 that process was probably started in late '04 before the unit was notified it would be deploying to OIF. If losing 1 man months before the deployment left the unit "without leadership" they were poorly managed to begin with.

LPNH is run by a mises caucus edgelord. They have very little to do with libertarianism and continuously troll.
I thought they were linked to Russian troll farm as well ..I was waiting for someone to call it out so I could provide everyone an example of Russian disinformation in social Media and types of acts they spread it through

Yeah, they will also post some pretty racist stuff too. The national party has tried to shut them down and get control of the twitter account, but it has not worked out.

From CBS News: Joseph Eustice, a 32-year veteran of the guard who also led Walz's battalion, told the Star Tribune in Oct. 2022 that the governor fulfilled his duty.

"He was a great soldier. When he chose to leave, he had every right to leave," said Eustice.

Trump goes after Walz

Trump: "She picked a radical left man that is, he has positions that are not even possible to believe that they exist. He is going for things that nobody has even heard of. Heavy into the transgender world. Heavy into lots of different worlds."
