I think most people assume this pick up is because Ryder is going to try for a medical redshirt so he can rehab his shoulder

And because White doesn't come from the blue blood programs Vega, Forrest, and Lockett came from so he may need a year in the room to develop.
If you look at old videos of Berge against Plott, he looks smaller than Plott. And Plott was at 174. Videos of Berge at 197 nd he looks very small. I don't think he has any problem going at 184.
But he White develops quicker than expected, Berge may not start. Taylor will wrestle whoever is best.
