The high water mark back in the day before all that fast food crap they sprinkled all over the campus was a Bunkhouse Special at Johnny T’s. Open 24/7. THAT was when America was great!
I remember the Big 8 sandwich shop on the corner west of Eskimo Joe’s, before there was an Eskimo Joe’s. They made awesome subs and BLTs and delivered to my dorm room. I think Hideaway may be the only other place that delivered but man does not live on pizza alone. I know. I tried.

Yeah, but the only place open after 10pm, so... I definitely went over there to get food, saw the condition of the staff and counter, and just walked away hungry... There were times I couldn't do it.
That Taco Mayo outsold every other one in the state for like 3 years

I had MANY a stomach ache from eating there. Yet, I could not stop. It was that or we would go to Pistol Pizza and get a single topping pizza and a breadsticks with cheese for one swipe plus a quarter (since the breadsticks were just straight bread w/o the extra $0.25). Then the game of how high we could stack our pizza boxes before taking them to the dumpster commenced. College students can be gross…

I miss pizza shuttle. Loved that place. Cheap and good. I could order two pizzas for $6 and that would get me by for 4 days if I was short on cash....or I could eat them both in one sitting if I wasn't. I miss being young.

You all are soooo young. You should have been around for the Sandwich Factory, Green Pepper Pizza and the Latigo Hickory House! Now that was some good vittles! The guy who owned Sandwich Factory also owned Pistol Patty’s and Redwood West. Burned Redwood down for the insurance money!

Greatest marketing plan ever at Pistol Patty’s. Wednesday night ladies night, girls got to drink free beer for three hours (no guys allowed) then they charged the guys five bucks apiece to come into a room packed with hot drunk chicks! I played a lot of foosball at that place and I remember the pink shag carpet that stuck to your shoes from having so much beer spilled on it!

You could also close the bar down and still get home in time to have a 10" pizza and a drink delivered to your house or apartment for $5. I lived on Pizza Shuttle.

Loved the sandwich factory! And I helped build Redwood West.

Alledgedly.😉

Shakey’s Pizza anyone?

Man, I'm old!

I was a Cook at Redwood West. We had a really cranky old chef there, but man could he put some food out. I remember my fellow HRAD classmate Tony Grindel was the maître d’ of that restaurant. I remember Matt Clark (basketball star) coming in to chow down on some steak and seafood and chatting us all up before I graduated and left there. If you think you’re old, I started at OSU two weeks after Stan opened Eskimo Joe’s. Back then it was just a nasty old beer bar where guys pissed in the bathroom sink, but he had ice cold beer and the best sound system in town.

I remember it well. Before they even added the " sunroom" to the east side. Nick's deli on the strip was another favorite. Bagel night got me through some tough times!

I love where this thread has evolved to. Time for a full ranking of dining hall options.

1) Taylor's (HRAD)
2) Rancher's Club
3) Bennett
4) Scott Parker Wentz upstairs Hamburger Joint (Grease Monkey?)
5) Stout Hall basement retaurant
6) Pistol Pizza - Changed to Oregano's
7) KD Cafeteria
8) Market Cafeteria
9) Taco Mayo

Didn't include the union, because that was a whole different thing.
