Yeah, but on the other side, he won his championship now…check, ou will probably pay him at or near what Ohio State is paying him (maybe not as high as what Ohio State is willing to increase him to), they’ll give him a multi year deal so he’ll be compensated regardless of BV, and he gets to be with his Fiancé. Again, I hope not but ou holding the position open this long makes me think there are serious conversations going. Hopefully Knowles is just playing it for more money and years with Ohio State.

I did - in 2011. And it was glorious.
I agree that the system could be better, but I also think pretty much all of them have flaws and it’s an inherent, arguable part of any process of crowning a champion.
Maybe you’ve stated it already-I just don’t want to go back through the entire thread. But what would you specifically change with the current CFP format and why?
I’m not arguing it’s perfect by any means, just a fan wondering how it could be better and curious to hear other opinions.

We can't come anywhere close to the money ou would pay. That is the unfortunate reality of current college athletics. The Big 10 and SEC will have so much more money than us that competing, in all sports, will become harder and harder.
If Vanderbilt decides they want our softball coach, or Northwestern decides they want our wrestling coach.... we'll have to depend on loyalty and prestige of those programs to keep them because we won't have a prayer of matching what those schools can pay.

This is why the ACC looking at putting 2 vs 3 in the CCG. If what’s discussed in the article happens and the Big 12 and ACC are guaranteed 2 spots, it makes no sense to penalize the regular season champion by making them play in the CCG and potentially take a loss (SMU) and drop in the seeding.
I’m interested to see if all the praise for the on campus games has enough momentum to create more of them with other changes in’26. I think the bye structure will change given how it worked out this year and the guarantee of 2 bids will be an olive branch to the Big 12 & SEC.

Not a bold prediction, but I think we see changes to it soon. Nearly 60 days from the end of the season to the championship game is just crazy when you really think about it.
