OT: General CFB Thread

What do y’all think about Malzahn resigning from HC and taking OC at Florida State?

(If this was already thrashed out, I missed it. My apologies)

He was probably going to get fired so I'm guessing it was a move to avoid that. Not sure what his buyout is but I'm guessing after the Auburn one, he isn't too worried about money.

He appeared pretty done with UCF in that last game. We’re not the only place with issues for sure. I think you’ll see quite a few more take that route or the Saban route and just hang it up.

I was wondering if there is anybody out there the Pokes could offer refuge to? I’ll personally foot the Joe’s Cheese Fries bill if that’ll foment negotiations with any potential candidate.

Not sure how any of that works, but I would think he isn’t altruistic enough to relieve UCF of a financial obligation in the event of his dismissal. Much like my naïveté regarding Gundy and our situation.

Ryan Day watching players essentially out if control vs trying to do anything to deescalate.

Need to name that game the annual Dr Pepper Spray Bowl.
Pretty stark contrast to Sarkesian actively going out & removing his players that were making a show of stomping on the aTm logo at midfield. I didn't think much of him, but he's kinda starting to grow on me. At least, I don't hate him.

These games make me feel glad bedlam is no more.

yeah I think it was #4 that was real class guy kicking up the turf and then looking like he’s repeatedly spitting on it while talking back to the security guys

Now that we’re on to championship weekend, this season has really been a blast and a lot more compelling than I thought it’d be. If a person had predicted some of the storylines we’ve seen this season, they’d have been laughed at.

The 12 team format really spiced things up, and the portal has really impacted the depth at blue blood programs because kids want to play, not sit, and they can do that now and get paid.

The system will never be perfect but man this is so much better than it’s ever been.

So it's going to be exactly what we thought; 3 to 4 big ten teams, 3 to 4 sec teams, 1 to 2 acc teams, Notre Dame, a G5 school and the big 12 champ.

Knowing that we'll have to win the big 12 to ever have a shot at the playoffs should really be a wake up call considering Gundy has done it only once.

It doesn't help that the leaders in the Big 12 weren't expected to be there this year, and that the conference cannibalized itself. If things had gone as expected and you had us, Utah, and/or Arizona sitting there with one loss I think its pretty easy to make a case that there would be multiple teams involved in the playoff. Its not nearly as easy of a path as a 3 loss SEC team, but I don't think it will automatically be conference champion or bust in the future.
