OSU Vs UNT - NIT Quarterfinals Tues 8pm

Not sure what your point is dude, times have changed since the Eddie was here. Lutz was a late hire - do you agree or want to fight that point also? It's all about Football, we have no $ for basketball - although maybe you have a few millions to throw into the cylinder?
The point is someone just was pointing out that this team is frustrating, which seems like a reasonable point, and you start talking Eddie Sutrton and Billy Tubbs and football.

I like our fight at the end. Our players left it all on the court. Could they have played better? Yes. But I think Lutz got just about everything he could out of this squad. They hung together and worked together all year (with the possible exception of one player). I think we are moving in the right direction.

Coach needs to work the portal and the donors. I think he'll do it.

Honeymoon is now over for Lutz. No more “late start” excuse, you have all offseason to
build YOUR team. I don’t want to hear give him 3-4 years to bring in his guys and build the program, that’s not today’s college basketball. This year was his freebie, anything short of the dance next year is unacceptable.

I disagree. You give a guy three or four years to build his program. For us, this involves more than acquiring good players. He needs to build a winning culture where good players want to come. We don't have a gabillion dollars like the SEC teams that built contenders in one year.

Sutton never had a losing record. Even his worst team was much smarter than this. I'm happy with the overall improvement from the season, but that doesn't mean that they aren't frustrating to watch.
Never said he had a losing record (at osu - got close a few times). a few of Sutton's teams were frustrating because they were better than they played. Have no complaints about Eddie. Deal is kids are not the same as he coached, money is different, rivals are not the same and just like my favorite MLB team of the 70's - it like they just change players every year. The team improved over the year. In my opinion all teams are frustrating it's just the moments remembered and its all about football.

Then you’re not living in the reality of today’s college basketball. One of the big selling points with Lutz was he’s a “tournament guy”, and had done it quickly in his previous two stops. There is no building programs anymore, it is year to year and if he can’t do it in his first two years here, why would you think year 3 or 4 will be different. And it’s not just the SEC, there’s plenty of examples of quick turnarounds these days.

In case you missed it we are in a P-4 conference and it may take a little more time than his previous stops. He had to cobble a team out of not much left. We are Old Mother Hubbard and all we got is Lutz in the cupboard.

I understand that these days people aren't very patient for getting the things they want. But I'm sure our alma mater will give him plenty of time to prove his worth.

West Virginia has hired North Texas' head coach to replace Darian Devries. After seeing their defensive intensity, I think that is a good hire for WVU.
Wren Baker, an OSU grad and current WV AD was AD at N Texas prior to going to WV. Wren was a basketball guy, under Eddie, while he was here so I’m sure he was closest to the basketball side at N Texas during his time there and knew Hodge as an assistant under McCasland. And McCasland’s quick success at TT probably helped that hire.
