Honestly, I'm super curious of the details of the new contract. I wonder when we will finally get to hear about it.
When the BoR didn’t stick to their timeline, that was blinking, meaning they weren’t sure of their ability to fire him. In other words he called their bluff.

Yeah. I get the fandom infighting two weeks ago. The season was a disaster but the HC in charge has 2 decades of winning so there needed to be lively discussion on the future of the program. But now, what's done is done. We have upgraded our coordinator positions (to be fair literally anyone was an upgrade). I think most of us were a bit underwhelmed with that but more optimistic about the rest of the staff.
It's time to get back in line and support the program.

I highly doubt they had enough evidence to fire him for cause and win that in court. I also think Gundy and his lawyers knew that. I’m no insider, I’m no subscriber. Just my thought and gut feeling.
Since this whole mess went down, the necessary changes have been made. I’m ready to move on and support the entire program. I think Gundy and co will have these young men hungry and ready to get after it come September. Gundy has always been his best when his back is against the wall, well it is and that wall has some fire on it also. I have a good feeling about next season.

This is how I've been describing the situation to my non-osu fans (both of them). I'm also thinking that if the coordinators were largely responsible for hiring their staffs, that is a good sign.
It defies all logic how quickly I've gone from "not gonna renew my tickets and gonna sell all my tailgate crap" to my annual unreasonable optimism for next season. I refuse to look up the definition of insanity in fear of finding my own picture there.
