Rumors are not helpful. Here are the facts:

The probationary (non-mission critical) workforce order anticipates 5,400 probationary workers will be released nationwide this week out of the military’s roughly 950,000 civilian employees.

In total, DOD plans to reduce the civilian workforce by 5-8% as part of the President’s goal to reform the federal workforce to maximize efficiency and productivity.

But no one is checking if these people are doing their jobs. Doge is claiming they aren't just because they are probationary. There's no in depth look to see who is needed. That's why they keep having to rehire people to do work DOGE was too dumb to realize was necessary.

So the email requesting the 5 bullet points is no one checking? Seems like lots of people don't want anyone checking.

Or they don't want to divulge sensitive information to someone who isn't their boss and runs a program that has issues keeping private data private. Plus, they don't know the intent. Send something too vague and your job is useless. Send something too detailed and you are a security risk. If I knew the CEO wanted to fire me because of reasons that had nothing to do with my performance and the VP of HR who I don’t really trust said sent out an email saying do this or else, I'm talking to my boss before I even think about responding.
