Bank of America has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought on behalf of victims of Jeffrey Epstein, who had accused the bank of facilitating his sex trafficking operation.
Terms of the deal, which now goes to the court for approval, were not immediately disclosed.
It marks the third such settlement by a major bank, after JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Bank agreed to pay out $290m (£218m) and $75m respectively.
Sigrid McCawley, a lawyer for the victims, said in a statement to Reuters that the resolution was "one more step on the road to much deserved justice". Bank of America did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The proposed class-action lawsuit was filed in October by a Florida woman who says she was abused by Epstein "on at least 100 occasions" between 2011 and 2019 and held two accounts at Bank of America at the direction of his business team.
It alleged that the bank had "a plethora of information regarding Epstein's sex trafficking operation but chose profit over protecting the victims".
It cites a record of "incredibly alarming and erratic banking behavior" in her own Bank of America accounts, which were used by Epstein's team.
It also points to more than $150m paid to Epstein by billionaire Leon Block, co-founder of Apollo Global, to Epstein for "purported 'tax and estate planning advice'", via Black's Bank of America account.
Black, who stepped down from Apollo amid scrutiny of his Epstein ties, has denied wrongdoing. He was due to be questioned as part of the case later this month.
Bank of America had previously urged the court to dismiss the lawsuit, saying it had provided routine services to people who at the time had no known links to Epstein, calling the complaint "threadbare and meritless".

Yeah because that is how the US legal system works....No reason to question the AG over why they haven't brought charges against ANYONE or opened ANY investigations into anyone but Democrats in the Epstein files and ARE NOT investigating the people ACTUALLY named in the files.

A DOJ spokesperson said members of Congress have been invited to review the files at the department and that Bondi has remained available to speak directly with lawmakers about compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, adding that officials had offered to brief the committee again this week.
“This subpoena is completely unnecessary. Lawmakers have been invited to view the unredacted files for themselves at the Department of Justice, and the Attorney General has always made herself available to speak directly with members of Congress,” a DOJ spokesperson told Newsweek.

I'll just point out that she's not under oath when she speaks directly with members of Congress outside of a formal hearing.

I have heard she used to run a company that helped children in Romania. They were forced to stop doing business because of missing children. Maybe that's the same rumor.

Trump announced Bondi would be leaving her post on Thursday. Her departure follows months of backlash over the handling of the release of documents related to federal investigations into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York federal jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking.
Democrats serving on the House Oversight Committee said Bondi would still have to testify before it, regardless of her departure.
“Pam Bondi and Donald Trump may think her firing gets her out of testifying to the Oversight Committee. They are wrong – and we look forward to hearing from her under oath,” Representative Robert Garcia, a California Democrat who serves as the committee’s ranking member, wrote on X.
Representative Maxwell Frost, a Florida Democrat, wrote on X that Bondi “still has to testify, under oath, in front of the Oversight Committee regarding the Epstein Files.”
“This does not get her out of that bipartisan, lawful subpoena. We will see her soon,” he wrote.
The House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena in March for Bondi to appear at a deposition on the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein investigation. She was set to testify on April 14. The DOJ previously said the subpoena is “completely unnecessary.”
The hearing follows Representative Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican, moving to subpoena Bondi, warning that the case “will go down as one of the greatest cover-ups in American history.”
