You sound a lot like the hyperliberal anti-American Australians I had to deal with at times.
We have not occupied persistently, nor did we install a puppet regime to extract their resources.
Dude….. we have stuck our finger in every part of the world since we dropped two nukes. There have been good things we have done and bad things we have done…..history isn’t trending our way. We have fought on every continent but Antarctica and Australia and the only reason we haven’t there is there are no people or anything of value. It has to stop sometime. It hasn’t worked. More of the world hates us now than then and we have spent trillions and countless people all over the world have died.
I don’t know the perfect answer for what’s going on in Israel or Ukraine. I know escalation and throwing money isn’t working. Think of all the countries that are either actively at war or supporting through funding and weapons. This is so close to going very bad. Three nuclear nations are directly involved in conflict and we are funding it all. There is no good end….everybody isn’t going to shake hands and go home. I don’t want Putin to think he has the biggest one in world…:I don’t want Ukraine to lose half their country….i don’t want Israel to cease and all the river to sea bs…..I don’t want anymore Palestinians to die. But what we have been doing isn’t working. That is undeniable. We have lied to the world…..we have created terrorists networks that hate us…..we argue that we should let people from countries in simply because they live there and our actions impacted them all to the point they should be granted asylum….we have fought in every decade since we unleashed nuclear weapons on earth which was supposed to end war. It’s gotta stop. It’s breaking us.
We have to stop and we need the jelly headed lame duck to not do a single thing unless it creates a clear and present danger to us here. We also all know anything that could do that he can’t properly process. So he needs to go on a farewell tour. Im not saying that that Trump is gonna fix it. His appointees aren’t exactly confidence inspiring. But the guy who hasn’t done anything to make it better at any point needs to lay all the way out. If Kamala won I’d say the same thing. Let her try. But Joe isn’t capable of anything. So stop escalating wars against nuclear powers involving countries your family directly benefits from financially and go home.
If you want to start a "the US should be more isolationist" thread-go for it. I'm sure there are good points to make.
If you are going to take our foreign policy mistakes/poor decisions as the world's superpower and the country that all look toward when things go bad over the past several decades and put it in a thread about Russia invading to conquer Ukraine claiming that we do things just like Putin you can FO because not only is that anti-American it is a factual lie.
You don't have a single clue what to do about these delicate situations but somehow the only thing you do know is that what we are doing is wrong.

Agree with part of this. We need to stop playing games with other countries and get the CIA out of that business.
The difference here is they are ASKING for us to be there. We didn't invade, we didn't stick our noses in their business, they asked us to provide weapons and support.

So if you had to diagnose a complex patient and weren’t sure because the body is a complex thinng that would be hard…..so you might try things….if you gave a medicine and it had a horrible reaction you could say hey I don’t know exactly what is wrong but I probably should t give them a bucket of what I just did. You are not the one diagnosing anything. You are getting no scans or lab tests (intelligence reports). You have no idea what they are seeing. You are simply taking the side of a dictator and making BS claims that we are just as bad.
You aren’t doing of any of that either doctor just saying more of the same medicine in the face of a decking patient. And we 100% know without doubt they will lie about what the scans and tests and flux capacitor readings say. Again history isn’t trending our way. I’m not on the side of a dictator. No, Donny, I didn't make an opinion at all as I am not in the position to do so. I can see how now that Ukraine has taken a significant portion of Russian territory that having missiles to fire into Russia to prevent counterattack would be helpful. But, I also know that Russia could see that as a provocation and do something worse. I am confident that I am not the best person to make that decision.
So, there are things that I know and am comfortable deciding. And things I am not. You are making a judgement basically based on politics, not military strategy.
I feel a big part of our "trending" is that half our country now thinks that they are immunologists, economists, and generals.

The generals haven’t won a war since the 40s, the immunologists have the fattest sickest country in the world, and the economist are 36T in debt. Maybe we do things differently. You don’t have to be Nick Saban to know you’re losing

The American politicians haven't won a war since the 40s. The military has won several. I'll stick to my lifetime:
Iraq 1991 was won in weeks against one of the largest standing armies in the world stage the time with well under 200 combat losses on our side. We pushed Iraq out of Kuwait and established controls to prevent further hostilities there. Military win.
Iraq 2003 was a dumb decision, however, the military did what was asked of it and we replaced a dictator with a functioning democratic government.... which we walked away from early (thanks Obama) leaving a power vacuum for ISIS to take hold. I don't remember well enough how much that was Iraq asking us to leave vs us walking away so I won't postulate. Military win, political loss.
Afghanistan was rebuilt as a functioning democracy until the American people became tired of US troops still being there and then Trump gave up the country (didn’t learn from us leaving Iraq). We were acting as advisors helping to find remove terrorists and had no combat role from Jan 2015 on. By the way we are STILL in Germany and Japan after replacing their governments. Rebuilding a country and establishing changes takes many decades. The American people and politicians failed there, not the military. That should have been talked about as a foreign base with advisory role instead of as a combat tour as soon as we cut our combat role. It would have been more tolerable to the American people. How you talk about things matters, and our country sucks at explaining important things to the public. Military win, political loss.

We have won several wars-Lie. Immunologists do not do obesity, they do vaccines and the "differently" people died at a higher rate- ignorant or a Lie. Congress creates debt- not economists. You want to blame Milton Friedman for our budget? Lie.
