Republican Senator Calls on Trump Administration To Prosecute AOC: ‘Seems Like She’s Violating the Law’

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) called on the Trump administration to prosecute Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for helping undocumented immigrants know their rights.

Bizarrely, the senator singled out border czar Tom Homan to do the job, even though Homan has no prosecutorial authority.

Last month, Ocasio-Cortez’s office held a webinar that explained the tactics used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Her office also shared a guide outlining the rights migrants have under the law. Homan and other Republicans have slammed the congresswoman. Homan even went so far as to tell Fox News two weeks ago that he flagged the webinar to the deputy attorney general, presumably to investigate Ocasio-Cortez. Meanwhile, Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley said prosecuting the lawmaker over the webinar “would be an assault on free speech rights.”

On Monday, Scott told right-wing commentator Benny Johnson that Homan was on to something.

“I think it sure seems like she’s violating the law,” Scott said on The Benny Show, declining to cite what law Ocasio-Cortez allegedly broke. “And if she’s done something wrong, I hope Tom Homan does his job and, you know, prosecutes her to the full extent of the law.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Homan’s threat last month by telling him to become literate.

“Maybe he can learn to read,” she said. “The Constitution would be a good place to start.”

AOC isn’t the only public official Homan has threatened. Last month, he suggested New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy could be jailed for “concealing an illegal alien.”

So, I wonder what defines an "illegal protest".

This is the kind of stuff I really don't like about Trump.

If they're doing something against the law, arrest and prosecute them. Don't make sweeping statements on social media about what you may deem as "illegal".
My prediction is that "illegal" will mean any protest that Trump doesn't like or that opposes him specifically. Based on his track record.

Going to End up with another Kent State on our hands

The Kent State shootings (also known as the Kent State massacre or May 4 massacre) were the killing of four and wounding of nine unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard on the Kent State University campus. The shootings took place on May 4, 1970, during a rally opposing the expanding involvement of the Vietnam War into Cambodia by United States military forces as well as protesting the National Guard presence on campus and the draft. Twenty-eight National Guard soldiers fired about 67 rounds over 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis. Students Allison Krause, 19, Jeffrey Miller, 20, and Sandra Scheuer, 20, died on the scene, while William Schroeder, 19, was pronounced dead at Robinson Memorial Hospital in nearby Ravenna shortly afterward.

Krause and Miller were among the more than 300 students who gathered to protest the expansion of the Cambodian campaign, which President Richard Nixon had announced in an April 30 television address. Scheuer and Schroeder were in the crowd of several hundred others who had been observing the proceedings more than 300 feet (91 m) from the firing line; like most observers, they watched the protest during a break between their classes.

The shootings triggered immediate and massive outrage on campuses around the country. It increased participation in the student strike that began on May 1. Ultimately, more than 4 million students participated in organized walk-outs at hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools. The shootings and the strike affected public opinion at an already socially contentious time over the role of the United States in the Vietnam War.

Eight of the shooters were charged with depriving the students of their civil rights, but were acquitted in a bench trial. The trial judge stated, "It is vital that state and National Guard officials not regard this decision as authorizing or approving the use of force against demonstrators, whatever the occasion of the issue involved. Such use of force is, and was, deplorable.

Fired US government workers with top security clearances were not given exit briefings

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some U.S. government workers with top security clearances fired in mass layoffs overseen by Elon Musk in recent weeks were not given standard exit briefings and advised on what to do if approached by foreign adversaries, four sources told Reuters.

The lack of so-called "read outs" for workers with clearances dismissed by Musk's Department of Government Efficiency in February could raise security risks as they dealt with secret information on everything from managing nuclear weapons to protecting the power grid from influence by adversaries and ensuring the safety of U.S international development staffers, former security officials said.

Dismissed employees with top-secret clearances are normally given a final security briefing reminding them of non-disclosure agreements they signed when they got the clearance. They would also sign forms acknowledging that disclosing any kind of classified information is illegal and turn in their laptops, said the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Two sources with top security clearances dismissed by DOGE, one at the Department of Energy and one former senior official at the U.S. Agency for International Development, told Reuters they were not debriefed.

Another worker still at the DOE, said several of the 28 workers fired on Feb. 14 at the National Nuclear Security Administration, which oversees the nation's nuclear arsenal, had clearances and were not debriefed. The fourth source is a person familiar with the situation at USAID.

Both DOE sources said the laptops of fired workers had been cut off from access to department data but that they were not immediately required to hand those in.

There were more than 1.25 million U.S. government workers, contractors and others who held top-secret clearances as of October 2019, according to the most recent unclassified report published on the issue by the U.S. Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC).

It is not known how many were fired by DOGE without being given the final security debriefing.

A DOE spokesperson said the department "is taking the appropriate steps to ensure all recently dismissed Energy employees are reminded of their obligations to the United States as defined by federal law."

Why is it with every stupid tweet or statement Trump makes we see a close to crazy overstatement? In this last few pages, we have people opine that mid-term elections will be canceled and now martial law by end of year.

Well, I don't think law enforcement will see it that way.
you aren't very good at putting things together are you ?

Trump is currently eyeing a MASSIVE 10K + PRIVATE law enforcement group that is made up of Citizens LOYAL to himself. He is using the BORDER and OMG ILLEGALS...as the means to get this enacted. As soon as he has this private army.....he will control where it goes and what it enforces...and it will be 1000% loyal to what ever he tells them to do

White House officials are having conversations with contractors in order to quickly increase Deportations. The Plan was devised in Dec 2024 prior to Trump taking office.

He has so far not given it the green light despite the pace of deportations being below what he expects.

White House spokesman Kush Desai addressed the document, saying "while White House officials receive numerous unsolicited proposals from various private sector players, it is ultimately up to the agencies responsible for carrying out the President's agenda to consider and sign contracts to advance their mission."

The document also proposes mass deportation hearings and a "bounty program which provides a cash reward for each illegal alien held by a state or local law enforcement official." Moreover, it suggests deputizing 10,000 private citizens including former law enforcement officials and give them expedited training to help with the effort. All such initiatives would likely be quickly challenged in court.
