Trump 2024 Run Thread

So jail time?
No.

Probably not. I’m not familiar with NY sentencing guidelines because I don’t practice there, but I don’t expect jail or prison time. Nor do I opine that a first time conviction for this type of crime….even 34 counts of it…is incarceration worthy.

First time felony conviction. White collar crime.

Disqualified from voting and firearm possession though.

What did I make up? Every single item I listed was a story about Trump before and during Oct 2016.

Are you denying the other stories I listed were not published in Oct 2016?

Happy to debate, but just because you don’t like the fact that there were already multiple stories about Trump’s ethics and a widely reported tape does not make it true. If you think one additional story would have made it “likely” Trump would lose …then good for you.
BTW, not everyone slightly to the right of Ilan Omar is maga. You are sounding like JD/Vakariarn, or whatever login he is using.
It’s not what I think it’s what Trump himself thought. He made the coverup payment happen bc he knew it was devastating news. Why else pay it off?

You said acres Hollywood and stormy news would have happened same week. Not correct.

Then you take what I posted and start putting words at my fingers just like you do w about every other poster.

1) Trump definitely didn’t want the story published. If you cheated on your wife would you? Trump is worth 100x what we are worth. I imagine you would pay $1.3K to keep a story like that out of the news.

2) I was referring to when Cohen negotiated the deal with Daniels. According to published reports, they negotiated the deal on Oct 8th. The Access Hollywood tape was released on Oct 7th. So not just same week, but only one day apart (note: although not sure if there is any difference between 1-day, 1-week, or your timeline of 19-days).

3) I didn’t bring up Brown vs Topeka, you did. I hope you can agree that is a stretch.

Not always easy to communicate half-duplex and I apologize if I incorrectly put “words at (your) fingers” that you did not mean.

First of all I never said I supported Trump, I’m more libertarian actually. My point is the tribalism that you are feeding into is degrading our country. Your disdain for Trump (who hasn’t done anything more immoral or illegal than any other president) is clouding the impact this politically motivated legal pursuit of Trump is having on our country/judicial system.
So I can understand where you are coming from, please explain:
1. How can you possibly know what immmoral or illegal things Trump has done and if they are more than any other president?
2. How can you know that this prosecution is politically motivated?

Did Trump just hold a rally in the Bronx and his campaign was hyping it yo as a huge event attended by record crowds and Trump talked about how much NY loved him ?

But now a guilty verdict and he is saying the entire city would collapse and it's nothing more than lefty crazy city etc ?

Lost their entire identity

GOP Rep. Nehls: We've got to behave and pass strong legislation in support of Donald Trump. If Trump says we need to move in this direction, we need to follow suit. We need to do what he tells us to do

I honestly didn't care about this one. I'll be on @SanditeCowboy's side here a little bit. If it wasn't Donald Trump and he wasn't running again, this doesn't make much of a splash. His lawyer paid off a porn star and they tried to hide it. Yawn.

Now the next couple of trials, the election interference ones, are incredibly important. He should rot in jail for those and be disqualified from running for president.
Yes, but the court he stacked is gonna stop that from happening.
Speaking of "politically motivated."

Also, I don't know the law well enough regarding the "hiding" of this. Did he get to count what is a personal expense as a business expense? Yes- busted. If it was just a way to hide it and there was no other benefit- I guess I would agree- yawn.

He didn’t pay until the 27th. Why do you suppose that is? He was trying to get past the election and not pay a dime. Then he got spooked.

I brought Brown up as evidence this conviction was not trivial. It along w other las/decisions are being targeted and talked about bc Trump covered up an affair to win in 2016. As a result he was able to reshape the court to 6-3. One of those 6 has referenced Brown decision. Evangelical pastors are openly calling for challenges/changes to the civil rights act.

Elections have consequences. Cheating to win those elections should have consequences

The notion that ANY felony conviction….much less 34 felony convictions… and the given the attendant consequences of such a conviction(s) is “trivial” is pretty nuts to me.

Being able to vote matters.

Being able to possess a firearm matter.

Travel restrictions from/to other countries for convicted felons matter.

None of it is trivial.

Wait…he won’t be able to shoot someone in Central Park now? Can he still vote while the appeal is going? I hadn’t really thought about the voting part. They just need felony convictions on several million more Trump voters now and they’ll slide Sleepy Joe right into a second term.

Tell me you typed that with a straight face😂😂

Community service in an ORANGE jump suit perhaps? Make him do it on weekends so he can’t have YUGE rallies and have CNN follow him around while he picks up trash. The possibilities are endless!
