Trump 2024 Run Thread

Musk allowed to continue his giveaway while a Federal court decides if it wants to take up the case.

Our court system just doesn't understand that timelininess is important sometimes.

What this judge fully understands is that he won't have to make any kind of a decision if he pushes deciding out past next Tuesday.

In order to grant a temporary restraining order against this conduct, the court would have to find:

-likelihood of success on the merits
-immediate, substantial, and irreparable harm will result to the person seeking the order before a full adversary hearing can be held on the propriety of a preliminary or final injunction

It may not be popular to say this here, but I'm not sure a judge could make such a ruling in this case at this point. If I was the State judge, I'd probably do the same thing as he is.

Ok. I can understand that, but it's frustrating how slow things go. Delay past the election so you don't have to deal with it.

Why has this been going for over a week without anything requiring him to stop? He knows if it's federal court and Trump wins, the case won't go forward. Why didn't the Justice Dept provide something beyond a statement essentially saying "we think this is illegal"?

The enforcement of election laws is so haphazard and delayed. There is very little incentive to not push the boundary at every step.

I can already see the outcome will probably just be him apologizing and nothing else. No actual punishment. Ugh

Trump claims pollsters told him this in 2020

"They said, 'if George Washington came back from the dead and he brought along Abraham Lincoln as his vice president, they couldn't beat you, sir.'"

That's what happens when you only hire people who tell you what you want to hear.

Keep in mind that the state prosecutor primarily alleged that this is an illegal lottery.....not a violation of state election laws.

If it's just an illegal lottery (anyone that signs the pledge has a chance), there is next to no irreparable harm.

If it's couched in terms of "buying votes" or some other violation of federal law (and the federal judges buy off on that argument), it's still going to be hard to prove irreparable harm when it comes to how that term is defined and how long he has been doing this and how many votes for Trump that led to affecting the election.

I mean, that makes some sense to say (and at least he named actual names instead of his mysterious and unverifiable "they")....who the hell wants a zombie President?

On second thought....that actually sounds pretty cool.

A sure sign how pollsters can be strongly biased with their polls.

Speaking of the dead, it's Halloween. Has Trump made the claim that millions of dead people are rising from their graves to vote for Harris, instead of him?

Trump says he doesn't want to "waste a whole damn half a day" in New Mexico

Trump Tells New Mexico Crowd He's There For 'Simple Reason' — To Pander To Latinos

Trump:

“No, I cancel shows that are no good. NBC is no good. ABC is no good. CBS is no good. And in fact, in honor of you, I just sued CBS today because of 60 minutes. You know why I sued them? Because she was on and it was called election interference fraud”

“I think CBS should lose its license but I think ABC should lose its license also because of what they've done. We’ll see.”

Trump: They don't want any more windows. No more windows. They want to take down every building and build a building with no windows in it. I've always been known for having the biggest windows. I got, I want those windows to be so big right down to the bottom of the floor. I got to change my whole philosophy if you don't vote me in because I go back to building crazy buildings now and I won't be able to use windows anymore. No, they actually, they don't want windows, they don't want cows
