  • Posting Style: Jobob85 posts moderately (6 posts) with a sarcastic, questioning tone. They challenge Midnight Toker’s optimism (e.g., “In the SEC? Hoping to beat out Vanderbilt?”) and use humor, like the “Gomer Jones” reference, to mock OU’s coaching.
  • Reasonableness: They are reasonably skeptical, pointing out the difficulty of OU competing in the SEC. However, their posts lean more toward sarcasm than detailed critique.
Additional Observations: Jobob85’s posts are consistent with the board’s OSU-leaning tone, and they seem to enjoy challenging Midnight Toker’s optimism without escalating to personal attacks.

I see you outsourced your thinking to AI. For most this is a bad idea, but for you its probably not the worst thing.

Most Sensible: Cowboyinexile stands out

You have been validated as being most sensible by a 3rd party objective observer, good job.

Yeah sure.

As the most logical and reasonable poster here I predict a 4-8 record for the squats. That's going to be the norm for new Nebraska for a while.

Then you went and said a really unsensible thing sir. Honestly though, I would really love to see you putting money on OU winning less than 5 games, the odds on that would be pretty spectacular. I put money on the over of 6.5 but the odds were a pretty sad at -200, so I have to bet a lot to win anything. I wonder what 4-8 odds are, like -10000

I just asked it to make observations about posters on this thread. I already made my own biased observations, but in this context, asking it to evaluate content like this, Ai is unbiased and objective

I dunno about that, nothing will be as bad as last year by losing 7+ offensive starters, having a horrible OC completely in over his head, and a young inexperienced qb who shat down his leg all year and still winning 6 games. It was a miracle that they were 2 plays away from being 8-4 despite all of those circumstances.

it's reasonable to assume injuries wont devastate them like last year

I don't gamble on stuff like that. Too many variables (i.e. Bama laying a complete egg last year. If I gambled though I'd take the under on 6.5 all day long.

Probably 3-1 in non conference because you aren't beating Michigan. Now find 4 more SEC wins being objective.

As for long term, your HC isnt the guy and I dont know that your school has enough rich boosters to remain competitive in your conference. To be fair its a concern both fan bases should share but for us its less of a liability due to conference affiliation. Around you, the Texas schools and Arky have scary money. I think Mizzou struggles and Kentucky puts most of their NIL into basketball so you probably got them. After that you have the SEC egos of schools like Tennessee, Bama, LSU, and Florida to name a few so they aren't going to get outspent by Texas. Mississippi State and Vandy you probably beat long term too.

So you will have a potential cash advance over what, 4 schools in the conference and most of the schools there are probably willing to throw money at kids to keep them away from competitors. You are a quarter century away from your last natty and over 50 years from being a dynasty type school. I don't see how you can objectively look and think you will be competitive at the top of your conference any time soon.

Beep bop boop sssssss honk

I am an unbiased nonA I. I have found this post to be reasonable, logical and semi-professional. Unfortunately, I am required by Turing's test to rate your post at 1.5 stars, due, primarily, to its failure to include the single point most salient to the topic at hand:

Fuck ou

Whuuuut? You bet? What happened to I never bet?
I know, i never usually bet on my own team, but this seemed like easy money. super easy money really.

That's why I usually wont bet, but at the same time, i dont see that the circumstances that cratered the offense with this many injuries happening again in 2025. It's a gamble I know, but it feels like a fair one.

I know you think the under will hit, but keep in mind they won 6 games last year with more than half the offensive starters on the bench most of the season, with an awful qb and an awful OC on top of it. They have a good qb now and a good OC. if they are mostly injury free, this is a 9-10 win team even with this schedule. There's a lot of national CFB people who feel the same way I do, so I know it's not just homerism and hope speaking

Man OU has more $ than you think. Signing john mateer cost over 3 million. signing jaydn ott who has nearly 3000 career yards was also over 1 million. R Mason Thomas was offered more than 1 million to transfer, their two freshman all americans, AND david stone all were offered more money to transfer, and it costs a ton of money just to keep those guys from leaving. this was after a 6 win season. IF OU has a good season, the pocketbooks will open even wider & it will be easier to recruit.

Also one must consider that 7 of their top 9 opponents are starting a new QB this season, with only lsu and south carolina have the same qb from last year

Objectively, their new QB and OC to settle and manage the offense combined with what I expect to be a top 20 defense will absolutely make them competitive at the top of the conference. The only thing that will get in their way this year of winning 9-10 games is injury and i have put my money where my mouth is on that statement

They have a good qb now and a good OC.

We don't know that yet. He was good at a borderline P4 school. Will that translate to high P4 success? Time will tell.

ESPN's FPI had you as a favorite in 5 games. If that holds then you are spending Christmas on the couch.
