Sunday Morning Coaches: The Final Bedlam Edition

Rangers winning the World Series and OSU beating OU in the final Bedlam has made for an incredible sports week for me. Now just have to keep the momentum going and send Texas off to the SEC with a loss in the Big 12 Title Game.

Hearing that Gordon is one of the leading rushers in the nation after only getting 19 carries in the first 3 games is wild to me. I was really hoping that they would throw some more to him today when the running game was a little stagnant.

WR: A+. Owens, Presley, and Johnson made great catches.

RB: A. Our running back is better than yours.

Their DE: A+. It was brilliant and sneaky plan conducted by Gundy and Trace Ford to have Ford transfer to OU then play like absolute crap against us. Game ball to Ford for helping us win the game.
He played? Guess we’ll have to check the film, I didn’t notice…
;)

Yes, it was PI. But there was also a play where one of our players got hit 3 yards out of bounds right in front of the ref and nothing was called. Their corners were literally mugging our receivers all night long and nothing was called. It all evens out.

But it comes down to this... 8 plays, 97 yards, 4 minutes and 43 seconds. All they had to do was keep us from going 8 plays, 97 yards in 4 minutes and 43 seconds and they probably win the game. If their coach doesn't lose his s**t and is 20 yards on the field screaming at a ref and get an unsportsmanlike conduct call resulting in a, checks the stat sheet, 15 yard penalty tacked onto the 15 yard PI penalty for 30 yards of penalties on a single play... for the second time in 3 weeks... then chances are we might not go 8 plays, 97 yards in 4 minutes and 43 seconds. But he did. And we did. Ball game.

Now someone call the wahmbulance... sooner tears are salty but they sure taste sweet...

Gooner tears are the sweetest tears.

Don't forget Ollie got knocked down a full 5 seconds after the whistle on our last possession too. Oh and Tyron Johnson got held on our last play in 2017. And Gilbert intercepted that pass in 2013.

Bottomline...blow it out your a$$ whining about the refs cause they missed favoring you for one call in THIRTY YEARS

He's second but the guy ahead of him has an extra game. I think he will probably lead the country by the end of the year.

If we pick up just two more yards on the two 4th down plays then this game would have been a blowout. I just kept thinking to myself that we were the better team all day and thankfully it worked out that way. Just a brilliant turn around by Gundy and a gritty performance by guys like Owens and Bowman.

You know what, I didn't want him. After the three-headed monster, I didn't think he was the best of the three and I argued against him. But over this stretch, this unprecedented turn around he has show real leadership both on the field and, from what I hear, in the locker room. So, right here, right now I'm admitting I was completely wrong. I love this guy.

Ride with Pride! Go Pokes! And, Mr. Bowman, you are Loyal and True!

You’re right, when we were rotating the 3 QBs I didn’t think he stood out at all. Watching him now I’m thinking “how the heck did that take so long?” . Same could be said for unde utilizing Ollie earlier in the season. Maybe they’re not good practice players ie Weeden?

Another A+ to the PA team. They did a great job playing music whenever the OU band tried playing Boomer Sooner. I hardly heard that annoying song.
It was pretty noticeable on TV early in the game, but seemed to fade away as the game went on. This may be petty, but I wish we would have given them 10 tickets for the band on the top row.
