OT: General CFB Thread

When the UNLV situation came up earlier in the season there was a lot of interesting stuff that came out on these deals. They’re basically all over the map with the conditions you mentioned.

Since the school can’t be the one making the offer, the collectives do the offering. Anyone with a brain knows that the collectives are working directly with the coaching staffs. Just another silly thing in college sports that should change.

Hopefully the reports of a salary cap becoming a reality in a few years comes true. Until then, it’s an MLB salary structure across the board.
When the settlement deal becomes finalized by the Judge next Spring, the schools will have control over the payment and deals as the players will effectively become student- employees, albeit, very well paid employees!!!

Indiana HC gets an 8 year extension with a bump to $8 million/year.

KU and ASU get the wins on the road. Crazy season, I don’t ever remember a year like this in terms of parity.
Big 12 appears to be CU’s to win at this point. Nobody else has the big play ability they do and they’ve gotten to the point where they’re not their own worst enemy.

Nothing against the kid, but what happens if he takes the deal and seriously messes up his knee a year after he sets foot on campus? Is it guaranteed money or come with strings attached? Also what happens if it does come with strings attached, him and another guy are in a dead heat for the starting job and the coaches decide to play the guy who has a cheaper NIL deal and use his cash to get a linebacker they really need?

You take the money and take out an insurance policy for injury. Lot of players who think they will get drafted do that.

My understanding was he had to appear on the coaches show. You're supposed to do something other than just play a sport for that NIL money.

I think Dillingham should be the COY in the Big 12. What he has done at ASU in two years is very impressive. I believe they were picked last in the pre-season. If ASU wins out, they will be in the Big 12 CCG.

I enjoy watching him during the game. He is a fireball. 5'6" tall. Never played college football. Got hurt in high school and actually became a coach at that time and was later promoted to OC at age 21. Went to ASU while he was coaching HS and later got hired as an offensive assistant at ASU by Mike Norvell. I expect he will get an extension and a big bump in salary after this season.

Totally agree. I remember hearing their RA on Sirius before the season and the guy had no hope at all for this season.
To see them in CFP contention at almost Thanksgiving is crazy.

I work with a Michigan grad. He's mentioned a few times that they have a BIG name booster that was working this guy - wish I remembered the name of his company. Guess the money was finally enough.
Hopefully it’s not the Jersey Mike’s dude $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

LOL @ Ole Miss & by extension the SEC’s cluster of “2 loss playoff teams”
They should be done now
