OT: General CFB Thread

Seems like their OC sucks.
Seth Lutrell, it was definitely a questionable promotion. Before the game tonight, Dean was talking about how Arnold said they were mixing in things from N Texas, where Lutrell coached previously. Dean thought it was weird and said I don’t really remember North Texas being an offensive juggernaut….LOL

Looking around the NCAA it appears that a lot of teams paid a lot of money to terrible QBs and lots of teams are struggling.
Bingo!
The assumption that you can just plug and play guys this young in and they’ll keep ascending is the exception, not the rule and we have years of QB transfer data to back that up.
Does it work out great sometimes? Sure. But there are a lot more examples of where it doesn’t.
I think the combination of NIL & unlimited transfers has both the schools and the players making bad decisions. I mean hell, vaunted Notre Dame has now gone with a QB from powerhouses Wake Forest & Deke the last two years.
Different positions are different regarding the transfer process. DBS & WRs, RBs step in and have some serious impact. I just think it’s harder when you’re talking about the single most valuable position in today’s football-the QB.

I agree. It it incredibly disgusting the dishonesty in the rankings all but guaranteeing there will be 4+ teams from SEC and B10, and only 1 or 2 from b12. Reminds me of the little league world series where the American teams all play each other before playing the international team. Gives them a 50/50 shot of winning vs being one of 10 international teams. All we'll hear is how bad the B12 is, because we have a 1 in 12 chance to win it all, and the SEC and b10 will have an 8 in 12 chance to win.

Plus the little league World Series American teams are like a Stillwater travel team vs the best players in an entire country on a team.

Are they the most overhyped team, with the exception of UT the last ten years, in the Big XII every preseason!!! 🥴
Phil Hartman Yes GIF

ASU not looking too good against Texas State in the first half. I saw where TSU is a 2.5 point favorite. Would be a horrible loss for the conference.

Texas State isn't horrible. They are probably a top 3 or 4 G5 team this year.

Well they are SEC, Tennessee is doing it too. If we had been first, the NCAA probably would have ruled it illegal, but now that SEC teams are doing it we should be able to as well. I imagine we are already reaching out to potential sponsors.
