Oklahoma State Cowboys at Texas Tech Red Raiders game thread

A little credit to Tech. They have some guys who can play the game.

I'm trying to figure out the number one priority for this team to improve going forward. Poor shooting put us in a deep hole. Sporadic defense was a real problem. Better guard play to initiate the offense and get the ball to our scorers.

One can only hope that the team will realize that this soft play won't cut it in the Big 12.

We're 12-2 and losing in Lubbock isn't a killer.

But some switch is going to have to turn on.
Yea this is a potential final 4 team so losing by 20 isn't unexpected. Especially when they shoot 46% from 3 but the body language is not good. Hopefully Lutz will tighten up the rotation and start sitting some of the guys that are sulking around.

Weak and soft. Roy and Fallah are the only two that earned their NIL money today. They have a long road ahead. They better start listening to their coach and play some defense.

Nobody on this team cares about defense, Lutz overcorrected from last season, had 0 scorers and went all in on scoring but literally 0 dudes who can guard. I don’t care if you score 20 if you give up 22. This team will be lucky to win 5 games in the conference unless Lutz changes things

The stat that really stuck out to me is we have played 14 games and had 12 different starting line ups. I think people need to understand that we have a lot of new faces that haven't had a lot of time all together because of injuries. It will get better as they play together more.

Our rebounding is horrid. Clarry and the other guard throw up terrible shots and play street ball instead of passing the ball. Eddie would have benched him the entire half.

Our mental toughness is nonexistent and our defense is soft. This team needs to toughen up in a big way if they want to be better than average

It’s like in football you don’t speed up a team full of nba players that is already much better than you. Our uptempo erratic offense spills right into their success. Quick rebound, transition up the court, quick pass, nail an open 3. Slow the game game. Make them defend and get tired, set some screens, make some dribbles then find a shooter. Slooooow doooooown this team

I didn’t even watch the game because of work but you make a good point. A switch needs flipped. Lutz talked all December about how this team needs to continue developing defensively. You’ve got to WANT to play defense and take pride in it. They don’t.

Defense is leaving a lot to be desired. Tech is really good...You have to get it back against UCF in the next one.

Closer game than the Orange bowl the other day I guess.
