We need to find a guy with energy and kids love to play for.

My choice would be a guy who was a GA at OSU back when they were winning. Eric Henderson, he's at USC now as CO DC and Dline Coach. #1 recruiter in the country, born and raised in Louisiana so he has SEC ties and has proven he can get those guys out of there. Also a Super Bowl champ so he knows the type of talent needed to be a powerhouse. It can't be an unproven OSU Alum because they played at OSU.

Has signed the top Dline class both years hes been at USC and the #1 Player in Louisiana right out from under LSU. He would bring guys with him that would transform the program and help us get back to being relevant again.

While I agree the move was needed, I don’t like the timing. I know many won’t agree and that’s fine but I think you wait until the season is over to do this. Inform Mike that this will be his last season and they will be putting a committee together and plans in place for the next hire. Just my opinion.

And by then, most of the guys you might have had a chance to hire will be off the market. You can’t wait until the end of the season.

Unless Doug Meacham can play offensive line (all positions at the same time), I don't think we'll see a lot of improvement.

Won't really matter with the way the OL has played. Some of the play I've seen - a cardboard cut-out would have a better chance of slowing down the DL from getting into the backfield... at least they might trip over it

But also, as Chad mentioned, there's no perfect timing on something like this, and the vision has to be longer term than impacts to the immediate season or next. A change was needed, and the longer we waited, the worse it would be. Glad we ripped the Band-Aid off.

Well if what’s reported is true and they offered him the chance to finish the season and leave on his terms, and he refused, there you go.
Sounds like‘OL Loyalty & True didn’t want to be a lame duck for a couple more months.
