My current church there are two women who attend together. They wear wedding rings, they are clearly a couple. One of them serves on the worship team with me.
This area is the whitest place I have ever lived. I could literally go months without seeing a person of color. Except I see them every week at my church. It was the first thing I noticed the first time I visited. I walked in and saw people of color and thought, this church is reaching its community. It is what would once be called an evangelical church. I think you might call it post-evangelical now.
Truthfully it's been pretty disheartening watching these people's social media posts over the years slowly but steadily decline into the hateful rhetoric it has. Basically anyone I'm friends with from that church has gone down the same MAGA path.
