No. Tree usage goes back well before that. In fact XMAS was placed on the calendar to take advantage of existing pagan solstice festivals... hence the tie to pagan tree traditions. Yes the lit Christmas tree originates from Germany but not the use of trees around the winter solstice.

I would encourage you to watch because he provides the data and sources. I could link to his video on Eastre, but since you won't watch it, it doesn't matter, but know that Easter rituals do not in fact have any relation to Eastre because most everything about Eastre is entirely made up.

Additionally, the winter solstice/christmas connection is also not a thing.
 
Peter wrote a letter to Christians who were the object of scorn and disdain in their society. American Christians have not typically had to endure such treatment for centuries in this country but if that should change, and it appears to be moving in that direction, we should consider that suffering for faith in Jesus Christ has been the normative experience for Christians for 2000 years. We are unique in that we haven't faced that kind of trial as much in America. We shouldn't think of ourselves as immune to such suffering and persecution, and as a result fight against it the way the world fights, but rather we should consider it an honor to be counted worthy to suffer for Christ. Here are some words that Peter wrote in his letter to Christians:

"Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation."

"For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people."

"For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed."

"Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing."

"Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name."

"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen."

For those that mock Christianity and think Christians are hypocrites, I will agree that we are often very guilty of contributing to that mentality by the way that we respond to such things as this Olympic opening event. But hopefully you can see just from these excerpts from Peter's letter that there is a distinct difference between true, biblical Christianity and the diluted form of false Christianity we see often today, a form of Christianity that looks much like the world around us and doesn't stand apart. The problem is not Christianity itself (in its biblical sense), it is the hypocrisy of professing Christians not living it out. Condemn the hypocrisy always, consider the message of salvation:

"Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation. For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him. And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed. And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people. And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm, “‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’ And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way, “‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’ Therefore he says also in another psalm, “‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’ For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption, but he whom God raised up did not see corruption.
