2025 Recruiting Thread

No that was designed more to get new OL in and we it actually wasn't a huge need anyway. The problem with the OL is almost exclusively a coach problem. That should not be an issue moving forward...
Wasn’t a huge need? We have 4-5 long term starters who have sacrificed their bodies for years and been torn apart physically and keep coming back. I would assume none of the senior linemen get an NFL look. A school that’s predominantly been a top 25 program the past 15 years should have a couple NFL prospects on the line, especially with the pay to play and fundraising efforts.

Also, what’s the story with Jason Brooks? Gundys mid season presser said Brooks wanted to redshirt. Brooks replied LOL on that tweet that day then was in portal the next day. I thought he had NFL potential…

Why would we go get guys that wouldn't be played anyway even if they are better than the starters/favorites? That is what I mean by not a huge need. That and the question you asked about Brooks again comes back to the problem at OL coach.

I will just say, like I told you in our private conversation that I thank God that Jason Johnson and Zach Allen have a clue and are the ones evaluating these younger guys and NOT THE POSITION COACH! 🥴

I mean I hope Jett Niu doesn’t flip to Ou. But if he does, who cares? We should have three older, more experienced and just as highly rated QB’s coming back next year. We lose some depth, but we can always snag another qb out of the portal at any time.

It can’t be worse than what we just experienced

The last portal qb worked out so well. 🤣🤣

I know you’re joking. But I’d say it worked extremely well, last year. As a stop gap he was able to get us to the conf championship game. The failure was we settled and this year happened.
👆Very good point! They were fairly aggressive coming out of the 2022 season in the portal in 2023 (18 new players I believe) and that had positive results! Last year they only picked up around 5 poor 6 portal players!
