2024 Presidential Election

Recess appointments are a real thing.

Doing it once gets him two years in the office. Then they can do it again.

Or Trump will just name him as "Acting AG" and never bother to get him approved by the Senate....he's done that.

Trump has called on all three candidates for Senate Majority leader to expressly allow recess appointments.

"Sen. Scott replied to Trump’s social media post, saying “100% agree. I will do whatever it takes to get your nominations through as quickly as possible.”

While Sen. Thune told Fox News Digital that “all options are on the table.” And Sen. Cornyn, Thune’s chief rival, posted on social media that the Constitution “expressly confers the power on the President to make recess appointments.”

I'd put it at about 80+% that he ends up serving as AG....one way or another.

This is becoming such a tragi-comedy that I'm mostly just ruefully shaking my head at this point.
Think they voted Sen Thune as the next Sen Majority leader.

Because head of a department is a single position. It could be head and deputy though which would warrant two people.
The article is behind a paywall, but the tweet says they will "lead" the new department. Head and deputy would certainly "lead" the department. So, Warren is talking out of her...

Lol. I’m not defending him. I just think it’s hilarious how this entire board had him convicted and sentenced a couple of years ago and yet….here he is. Do you guys ever get tired of being wrong….about everything?

Hunter Biden? Sleepy Joe?

How would she know it is the work of one person when it is a job that no one has ever done before, exactly? So, exactly how does she have a point?
She doesn’t have a point. We’ve got two billionaires, one of which is probably the smartest person in at least a generation, probably working for free, to root out government inefficiency and the idiot democrats somehow have a problem with it. Only a party that just finished pissing away a billion dollars on the worst candidate in the history of candidates could possibly make sense of it. Clowns will be clowns.

When have deputies ever been announced like that? Its always cabinet or dept head positions since they are the confirmed positions. I'm also not sure if that new office warrants cabinet level confirmed positions or not because it's not anything that's ever been in previous administrations.

So she is commenting like anyone used to presidential nominations would.

Gaetz as AG seems like a sacrificial nomination to me. Kind of a "take the attention off the rest" kind of thing. Approve of all the others that may have been fought cause they can't wait to completely NUKE this clown.

I say 0% chance he gets approved

Looks like you might be right.

Yes, if there is anything that billiionaires are known for, it is doing work for free. Have a read of The Millionaire Next Door and educate yourself.

No I have no problem if he were to somehow root out government inefficiency. But, more likely he does what we all know the wealthy typically do when they have access to the government. They use it to drain every penny they can into their own pockets under the guise of doing something else while sucking in the very gullible. In that case, I do have a problem with it.

Well he’s essentially a Democrat so you might be right 🤷‍♂️

Having reportedly voted for Joe Biden in 2020, Musk even voiced his pro-Dems alignment in 2022 when he posted on X, formerly Twitter, that he had “strongly supported Obama for President” in 2007. Before throwing his support behind Trump this year, he poured thousands of dollars worth of donations into both Barack Obama and former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s years-old campaigns.

Yes. If they can remove redundancy without reducing capability then I'm all for it, but nothing that I have seen from them leads me to think that will be the case.

Yeah... then he became a racist and went all in on MAGA.
