2024 Presidential Election

Just like a congressman getting wealthy off a $174k salary. What a naive question to think they are doing this for a salary. LOL. I'm pretty sure Musk will get the same non-salary he got from Tesla and will likely end up that much more wealthy getting paid "zero."
Especially after he pushes more work to his own companies by reducing the ability of the government to do those things (NASA for Space-X comes to mind).

“Musk is sitting in on calls with world leaders, appearing in Trump family photos, and taking credit for Trump’s victory every chance he gets. “He’s behaving as if he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows it,” a source told NBC News.

Trump met with a closed session of House Republicans today for the first time since his victory. Musk was right beside him. “He thanked Musk for everything he did in the election and said now he can’t get rid of him,” journalist Jake Sherman said in a post on X.”

I predict their relationship will not end well…..and I for one can’t wait to watch the divorce fireworks.

Does anyone else find it odd that the acronym for this new agency is the name of Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency? Can’t be a coincidence, can it? Wait until Trump hears about this. :p

Gaetz as AG seems like a sacrificial nomination to me. Kind of a "take the attention off the rest" kind of thing. Approve of all the others that may have been fought cause they can't wait to completely NUKE this clown.

I say 0% chance he gets approved

"Members of President-elect Donald Trump's transition team are drawing up a list of military officers to be fired, potentially to include the Joint Chiefs of Staff, two sources said, in what would be an unprecedented shakeup at the Pentagon."

... and it starts. This is about the dumbest move he can make.

Recess appointments are a real thing.

Doing it once gets him two years in the office. Then they can do it again.

Or Trump will just name him as "Acting AG" and never bother to get him approved by the Senate....he's done that.

Trump has called on all three candidates for Senate Majority leader to expressly allow recess appointments.

"Sen. Scott replied to Trump’s social media post, saying “100% agree. I will do whatever it takes to get your nominations through as quickly as possible.”

While Sen. Thune told Fox News Digital that “all options are on the table.” And Sen. Cornyn, Thune’s chief rival, posted on social media that the Constitution “expressly confers the power on the President to make recess appointments.”

I'd put it at about 80+% that he ends up serving as AG....one way or another.

This is becoming such a tragi-comedy that I'm mostly just ruefully shaking my head at this point.
