You know Elon is just going to cut his competition out of the government... even worse would be doing something like he did with Twitter and do across the board without any consideration into what people are doing/ office work/staffing load and end up killing function and hurting those (people and business) that depend on the gov actually functioning.

Unthinking mass layoffs is my concern. Like any large workforce, I'm sure there are people not doing much. And if this is really an efficiency review, fine. I can tell you my team works their tails off. And, we have had several retirements/changed jobs and there has been hiring freeze so we are already short. But, if it is just a couple of wealthy guys saying "Cut 50% now" and putting that on X for their own satisfaction they are going to cause serious problems.

We really are back to the 1890s gilded age approach to things aren't we. Is that now their concept for when America was great, I thought it was the 1950's but maybe it was late 1800s. Same roles for women and minorities, child labor, hate of unions.... yep all adds up.

Yep. Neither of the major parties, and candidates, paid much lip service to stopping or even slowing the national debt. And neither spoke about fixing the looming Social Security shortage.

Just like a congressman getting wealthy off a $174k salary. What a naive question to think they are doing this for a salary. LOL. I'm pretty sure Musk will get the same non-salary he got from Tesla and will likely end up that much more wealthy getting paid "zero."
