What do you want to see different out of the bye week?

So Rangel is going to start? Good times, this season is. Expected to compete for the conference title and maybe go to the playoffs to about to be 0-4 in the conference. Nice f'n job coaching staff. Clown show.

Yeah, a QB change will work only if there is a viable option. Both backups are.. yikes. Won't matter who the number 1 QB will be/is. The o-line is complete trash, so it's useless to even make a change.

That quote from Rangel in the OColly makes it sound like it was said during the bye week and seemed to indicate he knew he would be starting. But this week Gundy said a decision wouldn't be made until Thursday. So I wonder if the reporter got that quote last week and was asked to sit on it until yesterday.

Got to love it. Blaming the loss of a game, that hasn't been played yet, on the backup QB.

I would rather see Rangel get playing time than wasting it on the 7th year guy that has defecated the bed so far this year.
If this is directed at my post, I'm not blaming the loss (which will be a loss BTW) on Rangel. I'm blaming it on our lazy coaching staff who put this team with so much returning talent in the position they are in now.

We're playing an undefeated, top 15 team on the road at night without two all-American defensive players.

Even if the team was rolling, this would be a tough game.

I'll be happy to see some changes, especially on O. Benching Bowman is a start but I want to see some evidence that we're willing to shake things up. I'd really like to see more 4 wide sets to spread out the box a little.

Your's and several others. Obviously I may have misread intentions which is easy to do with written responses. I don't think we have a QB ready to go out on the road, as a 9 point dog, at altitude, with this offensive line and coordinator, and get the win.

Giving Rangel a start is a better way to evaluate him. I may be waiving the white flag here but, at this point trying to build for next year is more important to me. I wouldn't mind seeing some changes on the O-line either. Even if they block eachother that would mean they're blocking someone.

Let's see what happens in the BYU game. $1,000 says the offense - with Rangel at the helm - doesn't surpass 300 yards.

And our o-line is trash, just like the entire QB situation.
There isn't anyone on the team, that we could put at the helm, that would get 300 yards. No need to lay this at Rangel's feet.

*not to be forgotten altitude AND 40 degree temps.

Not what our boys are used to to. I feel terrible writing this because it won’t affect Gundy at all but personally I love him having to face the heat again if we lose. I think we lose by 20+ personally.

His “I don’t give a crap attitude, it’s just one loss, players have to learn to lose, life is hard BS” really irks the hell out of me. All while he sits there and makes $9M/season.

We've seen Rangel several times. He's not that good. If we are building for next year, put Flores out there. Supposedly he's listed as Rangel's backup, so it's obvious the rumors of him being hurt were BS. Gundy is is going to F around and Flores will hit the portal after the season then we'll be stuck with not Big 12 caliber Rangel on a rebuilding team. That's going to be fun.

Haha. Yes, Flores having never attempted a collegiate pass is the savior. Maybe when were down 20+ in the third quarter this week he get his shot. You know, when BYU is teeing off on every down because the run is not effective and we need to throw the ball.

Do you know if Flores does or does not have an injury?

Point seems moot now that it's been reported that he's not in Utah, but.....no I don't have a clue if he has an injury. It was said he did several weeks ago, then it was said he was practicing with the team the last couple weeks and was listed as Rangel's backup. Now he's not in Utah. So who the hell knows what's up with anything because Gundy sure won't come out and say it.

Also, I never claimed Flores would be "the savior". But he had some pretty good credentials coming out of highschool and he's a redshirt freshman so he should be ready to start taking snaps. Gundy himself said he was ready at the beginning of the season. Rangel is not and will not ever become a Big 12 caliber QB. He doesn't have it.
