The legal action around all that is going to eat into the savings. No one is giving up a government grant worth millions that was agreed to prior to the new administration without a fight.
A real audit where they hire a bunch of accountants and spend 6 months diving into everything would have been way more productive, but this was never really about saving money.

My favorite part about Doge is how stupid they are. They post about "savings" only for the most amateur math nerds out there prove it wrong in less than a day. That $8billion? That was actually $8 million. $500 million in savings? Whoops, we meant $500k!

During the traffic stop, troopers noticed several indicators of criminal activity that led to locating the fentanyl inside the vehicle. The driver was an undocumented, illegal alien. Further investigation uncovered he was moving the fentanyl under the direction of a drug cartel. The suspect was booked into the Tulsa County jail on several charges including aggravated drug trafficking.

I'm all for deporting all foreign nationals (documented/undocumented/whatever) committing felonies (ANY felonies, not just violent or drug related felonies) and certain misdemeanors like domestic abuse or drunk driving.....immediately....do not pass go....do not collect $200. And I don't give much of a thought to the conditions under which you deport them either.
The hard-working, otherwise law-abiding, undocumented aliens that I see as victims of crime and exploitation of their lack of status by employers though? Not so much. I'm not that worried about them. Most of them I have encountered at work are good hard working people just trying to make their way through life.
Why can't we as a country have a little nuance, discretion, and reasonableness in the immigration discretion. It really doesn't have to be an all or nothing, completely binary, false dichotomy discussion.....does it?

The fact that the person was an immigrant has absolutely ZERO bearing on the story. It literally does not matter, unless you want it to matter. The same way some people cross their fingers hoping it's a transgender person that commits a mass shooting.
