US continues to go backward...

I'm certainly not comfortable with a man in the ladies room and it's ridiculous to make the argument that it is ever appropriate under any circumstances.
Dad out with his 5 or 6 year old daughter not wanting to take HER into a men's restroom.

I'm not afraid of them at all and I don't think most people are. I'm also not at all comfortable having a female in the men's room and, again, most people aren't.
Couldn't care less. If "she" is not standing next to me at the urinal gazing, I don't give a crap. Stalls are there for a reason. If you aren't standing there in a sundress or some crap coming out of a stall, I'm not gonna think twice.

I work with a guy that is Trans (F2M). So is it better for him to go into the women's room and look like a dude in the girls bathroom or to break your never allowed ever rule and be in the men's room using a stall or should they just not exist..? I'm guessing you're going with the later.

This crap is stupid. I never once thought about this sh!t until people started flipping out about the fact that sometimes the birth certificate doesn't match the current condition and those people have to poop too.

I'm less concerned about being in a bathroom with someone that looks like a dude but wasn't born that way than I am with someone that was born male but is wearing a dress because she's been a woman for 15 freaking years. One i wint even notice, and its notbthe one you are SO concerned with. And my wife is probably the same, because guess what, I bet you couldn't tell it has been happening for years.

As a country can we cut the stupid culture war BS? Please. We've got more important stuff to figure out than where Sam goes to pee.

side note to my post on the transgender bathroom bill: watch the Will and Harper documentary on Netflix..."In Netflix’s Will & Harper, we find an intimate and vulnerable documentary about a longtime relationship that also becomes an intentional allegory for America’s reckoning with transgender understanding." Joseph Beyer, reviewer of the film.

According to the article over 1/2 of Americans are okay with reducing the SS benefit for other people. SS funds are paid back to citizens that earned and paid into the program -- it is their money. As someone who is retiring this year and planning to utilize SS in 12-15 years as part of retirement income, this just makes me SMH.
We need our elected officials to shore up SS for all, but should not consider taking away earned income for retirees.

I don’t pretend at all to think Trump has announced or even indicated he has a plan to increase SS solvency. That is a worry.

I am frustrated that SS and National Debt remain a looming issue, but hardly any politicians are serious about fixing.

I also share this concern. Cuts to budget need to be paired with keeping revenue similar or even removal of tax cuts to pay down the debt.

That being said, our deficit spending may be required since we are the reserve currency of the world. If we dont deficit spend, a strong dollar could crush the other world economies, per the Triffin Dilemma.

The easiest fix in the world that is 100% tax the haves and not the haves nots is make all income subject to SS withdrawal. Remove the cap. It ain’t gonna fix all the problems but it would make a significant dent. At the same time make it where Congress can’t touch it. No loans for anything

Well, yea. It shocks you that 50% of our country is "eff you, got mine", "I love my subsidies but want to eliminate yours", pull-up-the-ladder-behind-me d-bags? Where have you been lately?

Didn’t say it shocks me. It is just sad that other people feel it is okay to take away what should be rightfully someone else’s property.

While I do not agree with this at all, I also feel that they are responding to a change in the social contract that is readily apparent. In the past, workers had pay more in line with executive pay along with defined benefit pension plans. Now, workers get pay much smaller than executives and if they are lucky some match in a 401K. They have seen workers get laid off, go bankrupt, etc when the economy sours but "too big to fail" companies and industries get supported by the taxpayer.
Not saying that this response is correct, but I understand workers seeing people making FAR more money than them and getting sweetheart golden parachutes hearing that someone has to give to save SS and they think, "Let them do it."
