well then, do it...if we are concerned with another country getting personal information, that's kind of comical...our personal information is out there for anyone to see, buy, sell, etc...

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not. But plenty of people out there believe that TicTok includes algorithms to make as dumber as a society. Literally a trojan horse being used to change American culture and turn us into nitwits.

The issue with this conspiracy theory is it checks out.

I don't think we can blame Tik Tok on the 2024 election results...LOL...seriously though, ALL social media is making people nitwits, unless they have common sense...

They don't want TikTok because people post actual hearings and documents. Is there a ton of misinformation....yes there is. There is on Fox, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS too. I'm willing to bet any amount that clips from senate hearings and posts of actual language in bills are viewed 100 to 1 vs CSPAN or traditional media.....it probably closer to 10000 to 1. They can't control TikTok so they want to ban it. Meta will take over the space with Instagram Reels and they know they can control them. And the author of the ban TikTok bill bought a million dollars worth of Meta after he put it forward. This has zero to do with protecting us or kids. It's a massive step back.

Why is this US going backwards?

Do you disagree with a jury of his peers that heard all the testimony, sent the judge several clarifying questions, and deliberated for 20+ hours?

I would not put in “US going forward”, but this seems to be a tough case and the jury took the civic responsibility seriously.
