Why are there drones flying over NJ nightly. They have to know what they are right? Things the size of cars flying that close to NYC airspace…..what are they and why won’t they say? I don’t think it’s Iranians or aliens or mess like that but why don’t we know

A few saw US military drones, went viral on social media, now everything in the sky (mostly planes) is a drone to people.

Yeah tons of stuff flying around about this now but there are big drones over NJ and nothing tangible about them. Why don’t they just shoot them down or tell us what they are?

Don't know. Don't care. They're obviously not dangerous (as long as they don't disrupt airways) and it's also hilarious that they're FAA compliant (green and red lights on the wings, white light on the front). It's either the US military and that's why "they" won't tell us or shoot them down, or it's a private entity screwing with everyone and "they" won't tell us or shoot them down because they actually don't know and they have been very little bother to people besides the social media bullshit. Also what do you mean nothing tangible about them?

They said yesterday at a press briefing there is an ongoing investigation and nothing and conclusive yet…..if we are spending 858B on defense and can shoot down missiles all over the world we can tell what car sized drones in proximity to NYC.

There's been reports of drones over military bases the last couple years. I also consider this situation a possible continuation of that (the Navy base in NJ was overflown by them as well).

I assumed they were snoopy civilians, but I don’t know anything about them so maybe, maybe not. Could also be a foreign actor that's looking around kind of legally and on the cheap trying to blend in with the random ones periodically flying around.

If it was dangerous, they'd be doing something to take them down.

Just because they aren't saying what doesn't mean they don't know. If it's a foreign actor, they would probably announce that AFTER it was dealt with, or after they learned all they wanted from observing them. Until then they'd play dumb to not interfere with whatever they have going from our side.

The President is commuting the sentences of close to 1,500 individuals who were placed on home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic and who have successfully reintegrated into their families and communities.

It was a blanket if these people meet this criteria he didn’t pick the guy and say oooooo I want to commute his sentence. I know Donnie will think that’s what he did but it wasn’t. Not saying it’s ok just that it was a blanket thing.

You can't (shouldn't) blanket commute sentences. That is a poor decision. You HAVE to vet every one.

Started in jail and was part of the group that got let out to home confinement during end of Trump's term (not blaming him since it was congressional action) due to covid. They were all non-violent crimes.

New Jersey Drone Mystery

Many reported drone sightings in New Jersey since mid-November are lawful manned aircraft, the Department of Homeland Security and FBI said Saturday. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas nonetheless acknowledged yesterday some remain unidentified and said the agency is monitoring the situation and deploying additional resources. The statement comes as the FBI has received over 5,000 tips since November regarding drone sightings in New Jersey and five other East Coast states, including sightings over a military air base. Many of these objects, largely observed at night, are described as larger than typical hobbyist drones, with some reportedly as large as cars. The activity has even temporarily shut down a runway in New York. See video of some sightings here. The activity has sparked comparisons to last year's Chinese spy balloon sightings, with Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R, NJ-2) suggesting Iran is behind the recent drones. The FBI and US Coast Guard maintain there is no evidence to date of foreign involvement or illegal or malicious activity.
