Trump 47

He has a point, at least kinda.

But seriously, at Thanksgiving get your old uncle, or grandpa, and ask him how he would solve some of the problems of the world. My guess is for many, the answers will look a lot like Trump's tweets. Some incongruent mix of angry old man/common sense/ ignorance of the complexities/ complete confidence in their words.

This is what we have dictating the direction of our country. Some old man at the T-Giving table.

President Donald Trump wants the Washington Commanders to name their planned $3.7 billion stadium after him, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.

Dip$h!t stadium it is!

Doing that sounds like a good way to sell health insurance to poor people that doesn't meet the standards required by ObamaCare. The more likely result is healthcare through bankruptcy, while insurance companies profit more. Are Republicans too shortsighted to see that standing for changes in policies that can lead to more medical bankruptcy still means having to pay for the health care of poor people. Anyway, what an irrational way to abolish ObamaCare.

He doesn't understand how Healthcare works. He thinks Obamacare is a health care provider from the government-like you can pick Blue Cross but you go with Obamacare because the government pays for it. He probably thinks its actually called that.

He has no understanding of insurance (or groceries, gas prices, home buying, and anything non uber wealthy do). Dude has probably never been inside a Target, let alone had the feeling when you can afford to walk in there and not stick to the clearance aisle. Heck he probably doesn't know whar a clearance aisle is. And that's who thinks he will fix stuff common people struggle with.

I almost put this in the investing thread but it is more political. But, he has a point, how much disregard of our rule of law can the government get away with before it harms our economy? I suppose most of the flagrant disregard at this point has been hurting individuals more than companies. But, he has pressured companies from time to time, nothing to stop him from kicking that up to fraudulent charges etc as he has used on political opponents.

I hear it is so they can take tax deductions off of the interest and pay less in federal income tax.

Someone with generational wealth isnt worried about their mortgage interest.

Someone like me, yeah I like that deduction. But you know what I like better than a tax deduction? Not paying money to the bank.

Gen Z is already struggling just to get into home ownership. We are going to limit their ability there, force them to overpay in both cost and interest, and then when those that are lucky enough to actually get in want to sell a decade from now will get kneecapped because they spent that time just paying interest and have no equity at sale? Id be calling BS on this if I was 20 years old. Heck, Im calling BS on it now.

Underrated comment. As the US is more fully revealed to be an unreliable actor, we will continue to lose investments and trade partnerships. This whole isolationist movement is succeeding, if the goal was to teach the rest of the world to get along without us. The US should be experiencing a major case of FOMO right now, because we’re gonna miss out on decades because of this.
