Trump 47

Thanks. I hope you posted that tongue firmly in cheek.

But I am guessing it wasn’t
I think he is suggesting some North Korean style system to Govt Leadership transference in the future here hand picked by Trump.

Pretty sure no card carrying member of the GOP would stand for that. Magastan of course would and might even try....but yeah I don't see that happening

Let’s not act like it’s not possible. We keep doing that with Trump and he keeps doing what he says he’s going too. At some point all of you acting like he can’t do what he says need to get you head out of your ass.

I think he's referencing all the Trump 3rd term talk coming from MAGA.

This.

Am I saying I think it will happen? No
Are they talking about it so an attempt isn't 100% not going to happen? Also no

MAGA tried to overthrow the government once. I'm not putting anything they might do to retain power outside of the realm of possibility. And telling their base "you don't want a Democrat or RINO to come in and undo everything Trump did to save the country" would definitely be in their playbook

Gee I thought we would have A LOT more people on this board calling Trump out For this. I mean people have TRASHED several Past POTUS's on this very topic saying you can't govern by EO.

Trump has signed just five bills into law as he nears 100 days in office. He’s issued 124 executive orders

Especially when he has both the house and senate too...

'Mind-boggling': DHS official ripped for saying wrongfully arrested US citizen claimed not to be a citizen

Department of Homeland Security (DHS)'s Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin faced criticism on social media after stating that a United States citizen, who was wrongfully arrested by border authorities in Arizona earlier this month, was subjected to action because he had claimed not to be a U.S. citizen.

"The narrative being pushed about Jose Hermosillo is false. On April 8, Hermosillo approached Border Patrol in Tucson and stated he had entered the U.S. illegally through Nogales. He said he wanted to turn himself in and completed a sworn statement identifying as a Mexican citizen who had entered unlawfully," McLaughlin wrote on the social platform X on Monday.

"He was processed and appeared in court on April 11. Afterward, he was held by the U.S. Marshals in Florence, AZ. A few days later, his family presented documents showing U.S. citizenship. The charges were dismissed, and he was released to his family. This arrest was the direct result of Hermosillo’s own actions and statements," she continued.

Reacting to McLaughlin's post, political podcaster and former Obama advisor, Jon Favreau said, "Yeah, U.S. citizens love to tell Border Patrol they’re here illegally so they can spend ten days in detention. It’s just a fun prank."

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, senior fellow at the American Immigration Council, said the DHS's justification was "mind-boggling."

"Mind-boggling that DHS's official position on this case is genuinely that a US citizen dad from Albuquerque visiting family in Tucson went up to a Border Patrol agent and said "Hi, I'm a Mexican man who entered here illegally, please deport me." Do they think we are dumb?" hewrote on X.

Matt Van Swol, a former nuclear scientist for the U.S. Energy Department, said, "I'm baffled why anyone would give a sworn statement, willingly to Border Patrol, saying they were in fact NOT a US Citizen. What could possibly be the explanation for why someone would do that?"

I keep posting it but I firmly believe we are in the FA portion of the show. Still in Ep. 1 of Season 2. He has no guiding rudder except chaos. Nearly everytime his policies collapse, he folds (tariffs or farm bail outs anyone). The courts are for the most part keeping him in check. Where of his promises has he had success at what he campaigned on vs what reality is other than disrupting government.

And despite what a few posters may claim as wanting limited government, we will face a significant crisis in the next 3.75 years that will require this administration to respond.

That will bring us to the FO episodes of Season 2. This admin has shown they are wholly incapable of critical thinking. There is no trust, honor or integrity. We will truly see a percentage of our population suffer.

IMO this is when a portion (bc you always have the morons/gullible) of MAGA will turn. Hopefully then we will have the opportunity to elect a centrist w integrity. I don’t care which party they come from as long as they govern w steadfast leadership and integrity. Do what’s right for people.

Out of concern for low birthrate, they are looking at ways to get people to have more kids.

The teaching about menstrual cycles had me laughing a bit considering that should be part of any sex ed class, and it implies people just don't know how conceive. I see a higher likelihood that it would impact birthrate negatively.

People aren't having kids because they are really expensive and often set at least one parent back career wise due to schedule issues. If you don’t live near other family, all the school closures and holidays are huge impacts to ability to work and daycare is really expensive. Now on top of that medical care for pregnancy, birth and childhood is only going to get more expensive as public health programs get pruned and medication costs go up. So they are proposing $5k to help offset those costs. How does anyone that wants reduced gov spending and hates government handouts support that?

I'd be more worried if the EOs were bills instead. They are easier to fight and end as an EO vs congressional action.
Congressional republicans do t want their name associate with at least half of this stuff, because they know it is deeply unpopular. They just dont want to go against trump publicly.

So Hegseth sees a photo on Sunday on Social Media, Shares it and calls out the commander...on Monday teh Commander is removed and the Base responds the issue highlighted in the picture had already been fixed and an investigation was ongoing to find out why it had been dealyed.

Army suspends commander after Army base failed to install photos of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on a wall displaying their chain of command.

Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez was suspended as garrison commander of Ft. McCoy in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. "This suspension is not related to any misconduct," the U.S. Army Reserve Command said in a statement, "We have no further details to provide at this time while this matter is under review."

Hegseth on Sunday reposted an X post claiming: "Commander of Fort McCoy, whose base chain-of-command board was missing photos of Trump, Vance and Hegseth, has been SUSPENDED."

It came after the Defense Department (DOD) announced a probe into why a wall displaying the chain of command had empty frames on the wall where Trump, Vance and Hegseth’s images would typically be displayed.

A new image they posted of the wall showed the frames had been filled.

"Regarding the Ft. McCoy Chain of Command wall controversy…. WE FIXED IT! Also, an investigation has begun to figure out exactly what happened," the department’s rapid response account posted on X.

Ramirez assumed the garrison commander role in July of last year.

Previously, she had served as chief of the Reserve Program, United States Army Intelligence and Security Command at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and in other roles throughout the Army and Army Reserves.

The move came after a series of leadership shake-ups across the U.S. military. Earlier this month, the Pentagon fired the base commander for Pituffik Space Force Base in Greenland after she "undermined" Vance.

After the vice president’s visit, Col. Susannah Meyers emailed base personnel on March 31, writing, "I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the U.S. administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday are not reflective of Pituffik Space Base."

The Space Force said in a public statement Meyers had been relieved of command "due to loss of confidence in her ability to lead."

"Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct, especially as it relates to remaining nonpartisan in the performance of their duties," the statement read.

And Hegseth fired four former aides after in-fighting and a leak investigation came to a head late last week.

The secretary blamed "disgruntled employees" for leaking reports about a second Signal chat that discussed Houthi strikes, this one including his wife, brother and personal lawyer on the chain.
