Trump says inflation isn't his No. 1 issue. So what will happen to consumer prices?
Inflation was a driving force behind Donald Trump's election victory, but he's put the issue on the back burner during his first week in office.

It was never his priority, he just used it to campaign on and people stupidly bought it.![]()

If I was a billionaire with a bunch of billionaire buddies, inflation would not be my no. issue, either. Since Trump lies or changes his mind a lot, maybe he will decide not to add to the inflation by imposing tariffs. If he does anyway, he ought to have enough mercy to keep food out of it.![]()

hell, I´ll give it a try...´tell me you´re in a cult, without telling me you´re in a cult´...What is that? I want to make fun of it but I'm starting to get concerned that I'll find myself bound and gagged in the back of one if I do.

Well that lasted about 20 minutesColombian president orders increase of import tariffs on US goods after Trump order the hill
Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Sunday ordered an increase of import tariffs on goods from the United States in retaliation to President Trump’s tariffs and sanctions.
Petro, in a post on the social platform X, said he ordered the “foreign trade minister to raise import tariffs from the U.S. by 25%.”
Colombia to send presidential plane to Honduras to pick up migrants from US flights the hill
Yes, we will forever remember the 1-26-25 trade war between Colombia and the United States and the horrific consequences on both economies. War is hell.Nothing helps an economy more than trade wars with former allies!!!!
The tariffs will probably include drugs, including antibiotics so that will suck with so many drug prices already plenty high enough. America won't be great again until much more of the various things needed are manufactured in America.Gee, Trump declares what Colombia will do. Funny, the Colombian President's X page still has this long diatribe. I don't suspect you speak Spanish but, needless to say, it sounds much more like FU than "sorry about the confusion."
We will see if the idiot-n-chief doesn't have trade wars with allies.
Given the stance of the Colombian President and they fact that the Trump Administration is already talking about new tariffs on Mexico and Canada prior to negotiations, I'm not gonna withdrawal my statement just yet. I think there is a lot better chance that you will be paying 25% more for the crow you are gonna eat than me.
The stance of the Colombian President lasted maybe 2 hours before he bent the knee. We can only hope that all of these future trade wars don't drag on like this one did.Gee, Trump declares what Colombia will do. Funny, the Colombian President's X page still has this long diatribe. bend the knee? or act more like a mature leader and not a middle schooler? at least one of these leaders wanted to avert a trade war, knowing it was in the best interest of his country...and is it wrong for a president to want people treated with respect?!...(not everyone on the planes had criminal record, hundreds did not)...The stance of the Colombian President lasted maybe 2 hours before he bent the knee. That can’t be real.nut doesn´t fall far from the tree...

MAGA way. Create fake problem, declare problem fixed and then declare victory, while ignoring any fiber points to what was happeningRight. As I said, the issue was the treatment of the Brazilian deportees. If you think that after causing all that ruckus, he just went, "Ok, go ahead and treat the people like crap" you are delusional. More likely, our state department contacted theirs and negotiated how the deportees would be treated on the flights.
The fact that the narcissist put out a "Look, we beat the socialist" statement to get all the people like yourself excited shows me nothing. And, even if correct, thinking that forcing our best long term ally in South America to "bow to our greatness" over two flights is going to be to our benefit long term is just ignorance. China is absolutely loving this.
