Republicans only believe the conspiracies that require you to ignore reality and connect at minimum 15 very loosely tied together dots. Put a conspiracy right in front of their noses, i.e. Elon's vote buying schemes and suddenly... "it doesn't look like anything to me".

Maryland issued a 4% income tax on everything over 1 million in 2022....last year they implemented at program to provide free lunch to every single student in their schools systems and they still have a massive surplus they are looking at doing even more stuff for schools

I'm a MD resident. Yes, post COVID, we had a great financial position and added some additional aides to families. However, the Fed Gov ended a bunch of funding for next year and along with other things going on, we were expecting a $3B budget shortfall.
Legislature just passed a combo of $2B in spending cuts and $1.6B in tax increases to make that up. Lots of fighting over that process and fear of businesses or wealthy moving to VA (a big downside to being a geographically small state).
There are serious concerns over the impact of $360M DOE reimbursement money being pulled. That with the deficit had lead to an education reform plan getting delayed.
Don't like that the checks and balances are.....checking and balancing.
Demand the checks and balances be obliterated.

Not to derail but Maryland is sitting atop a nice reserve of natural gas and oil. But their ban on fracking makes it unrecoverable. They need to be like Ohio and work w the industry and responsible environmental groups and develop a plan to drill that could lead to a nice financial boost for the state.
