Trump 47

Is a lot of the food you serve imported? Not being a smartass, I'm truly trying to understand how tariffs on China affects restaurants in America.
We do buy cheeses from outside of the US. But even if we buy locally (which we try to do as much as possible), things are getting more expensive across the entire supply chain. My baker just told me that a case of his eggs cost $46 last year. It's now $127, with no end in sight. Our price for pastrami went up 17% at the beginning of the year, even though it comes from neighboring states. Avocados were already insanely expensive, even at wholesale (which I blame Biden for). I will probably stop buying them for a bit because my produce vendor anticipates them going up even more.

I don't blame all of the high grocery prices on trump, this started well before he was in office. I do blame him for not having a plan to fight it, and seemingly not giving a crap about it. A huge part of his stupid campaign was "egg prices and gas down in the first week!!". A lot of us knew that wasn't going to happen, but it was a promise nonetheless. At least Kamala had a plan in place to fight over-inflation and greed. I don't know if it would have worked, but it was a thought out plan rather than "We're gonna tariff the entire planet!"

oddly enough I think our Military power lies in kids playing video games right now. The military is building Unmanned Drones, Warships, Helicopters, F35 Raptors etc etc etc . these Unmanned Military Vehicles are then controlled by Young US Soldiers sitting half a world away and they are using Literal XBOX and PS5 Type controllers to fly and use these war machines on a daily basis.

Our youth having good control and faculties of how to use video game controllers and use them well....actually may be a Military Advantage in the Very Near Future.

Same goes for Construction Equipment believe it or not. Gone are the big lever actuators and in are the itty-bitty joysticks.

Germany considers withdrawing 1,200-ton gold stockpile from US

Germany is considering removing an enormous stockpile of gold from a vault in New York over worries about Donald Trump’s unpredictable policies.

For decades, Berlin has stashed 1,200 tons of its famous gold reserves, the second largest on the planet after those of the United States, in a vault deep underground at the US Federal Reserve in Manhattan.

Now, senior figures from the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, which is set to lead the next German government, have discussed removing it from New York because of concerns that Washington is no longer a reliable partner, the Bild newspaper has reported.

It’s probably already gone.

Donald Trump Faces Growing Republican Pushback Over Tariffs

Just learned our parent company is canceling their first response to tariffs last month where they were going to raise prices by 17% and have now reversed course after all of the Tariffs and will instead raise Prices by 44.5% while directly citing Trump Tariffs and impact on Raw Materials.

Biggest competitor is reportedly going to issue a 47% price increase as well.

The below is the best insight into the "Why" I've seen.

A decent video that ultimately drills down to the issue/conclusion that for this to work the rest of the world will have to trust Trump will do what he says he will during new negotiations and basically become vassal states economically to the US.

Trust the guy that has just recently basically tore up prior trade agreements and threatens security agreements with our strongest allies daily to mean it when he reaches new trade agreements.

I don’t see that happening at all….especially worldwide like it would need to. Much less in the “two months” you’re willing to give it. I really don’t think the rest of the world is as trusting and naive as the MAGAstani.
