A spokesperson for Donald Trump's campaign says he is safe following "gunshots in his vicinity."

Sources told ABC News the incident occurred near Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, adding that the gunfire was not targeting Trump.

Trump is safe after Secret Service opened fire at suspected person with firearm near his golf club

WASHINGTON (AP) — A man with an AK-style rifle pushed the firearm’s muzzle through the perimeter of Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach, Florida golf course Sunday as the Republican presidential candidate was playing a round, prompting U.S. Secret Service to open fire, according to three law enforcement officials. The former president is safe and unharmed.

The person dropped the weapon and fled in an SUV, and was later apprehended in a neighboring county, the officials said. The officials were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

An AK-style firearm was recovered at the scene near Trump’s golf course, two of the officials said. And no injuries were reported.

Fox News commentator and longtime Trump confidant Sean Hannity gave more details about the incident he has since learned through conversations with the former president. Hannity told “Fox News Live” that he spoke to the former president and Republican nominee three times since Secret Service agents whisked him off his golf course after shots were fired. According to the Fox host, Trump first made sure his golf partner, Miami area real estate developer Steve Witkoff, was safe and off the course. After that, Hannity said that Trump moved on to joking about his spoiled tee time. “Ugh, I really wanted to finish the hole. I was even and I had a birdie putt,” Hannity claimed the former president said. “It was on the fifth hole, which shows a lot of guts and gumption,” the Fox columnist gushed.

Paranoid fanatic Alex Jones said that Trump should realize the deep state is determined to kill him and needs to get safe in a bunker and campaign from there 10 hours a day and he will win the election by 75%. If Trump doesn't do what Jones wants, then he may get a bullhorn and go protest about it at Trump rallies. Jones boasts of having Don Jr's. phone number to try to get through to his father.
