Why isnt this a bigger story? We witnessed an assassination attempt on a former President who at the time was leading in his attempt to get back into office. I'm sincerely glad it was a minor injury and hate that an innocent bystander lost his life. It could have been so much worse. I don't care that it was a minor injury-broken glass, even if the shots hadn't been within 10 feet of him. This had the potential to be a history changing moment.
That being said, right after it happened there was a big push from Republicans going into their convention to play up what could have been and after that crickets. They should be playing it up like crazy now that they are trailing but nothing. You can't even say it's because the widow of the man that lost his life doesn't want it to be political. She didn't take the call when Biden offered his condolences and everyone knows Trump doesn't have much tact when using loss of life for political gain. It's just really really odd that the assassination attempt on a major party presidential candidate is being swept under the rug by his own campaign.
