Tim Walz Harris VP Pick

Can't fake to look on this guy's face when all these kids rush to thank him

In 2023, Minnesota governor Tim Walz signed a bill providing free breakfast and lunch for all students regardless of income.

Tim Walz was my teacher in high school. Here's what I've carried with me about him all these years later.

Senior year, my creative writing class wrote poems and hung them on giant pieces of paper in the hallways.

After I hung mine, I decided to add a standalone line at the bottom that said: "Sometimes people who don't speak have the most to say."

A few days later, Mr. Walz stopped me in the hall. He said he'd read my poem and wanted to know about that single line. TimWalz

Gov. Walz is being called a “left wing extremist” for passing these policies:

* Free bfast and lunch for school kids

* Tuition-free college for low-income students

* Universal background checks on guns

* Expanded lgbtq protections

* Legalized Marijuana

Oh yeah, I was hoping that they would focus this election on more racial division. Just what we need.

I don't get the republican's strategy. They are purposefully choosing a strategy that only 1/3 or 1/2 of their base feels strongly about and only about 42-46% of the population is willing to hold their nose and vote for.

It rubs moderates and independents the wrong way too.

Are they just 100% allin for ALL GOP members now on Race...on everything in 2024 ???? Is Race the ONLY thing they have right now?

No one else is talking about anything but Race ???!!??

Speaker Johnson: Shapiro was ‘overlooked’ for VP because of Jewish heritage

NEW YORK — Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Tuesday argued that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) was “overlooked” for the role of Vice President Harris’s running mate because of his Jewish heritage.

The comments — made during a wide-ranging sit-down interview with The Hill in New York City — came shortly after news broke that Harris selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) to be her vice presidential nominee, ending weeks of speculation over who would fill the No. 2 spot on the Democratic ticket.

Johnson said Shapiro, who was one of the finalists in contention, “would have been a stronger choice” for Harris.

“I think that clearly was a major factor, is that she was reluctant to put a vice presidential nominee on the ticket with Jewish heritage because they’re having a split in the Democratic Party,” Johnson said. “They have a pro-Palestinian, in some cases pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party.”

“Sadly for Josh Shapiro, because of his heritage, I think that is the reason he was overlooked,” Johnson added.

Pressed if there was an antisemitic undertone to the decision — which some Republicans have claimed — Johnson rebuffed, but he reiterated his opinion that Shapiro’s Judaism was a “major factor” in the decisionmaking process.

“I’m not gonna call it that because I don’t — I just know that that was a major factor,” Johnson said. “I think it was transparently a major factor. And I think they made a political decision that is sad, and I think they’ll regret it.”

Donald Trump Claims Tim Walz Will 'Unleash HELL ON EARTH'

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump had an apocalyptic response to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris picking Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as her vice presidential running mate on Tuesday.

In an email to his supporters, Trump claimed that Walz, an amiable Midwesterner with a record as governor that progressives love, said he would be “even worse” for the country than Harris.

“HE’S THAT BAD,” Trump’s email read.

“He’ll unleash HELL ON EARTH and open our borders to the worst criminals imaginable,” the former president added of Walz.

Walz, a former public school teacher and veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, pushed through several progressive priorities in Minnesota, including a Medicaid buy-in, paid family and medical leave, a phase-out of fossil fuels, and free school lunches for all.

He previously represented the state as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, where he was known by colleagues as a centrist Democrat.

“To characterize him as left is so unreal,” former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Tuesday on MSNBC. “He’s right down the middle. He’s a heartland of America Democrat.”

But Republicans were breathing a sigh of relief on Tuesday that Harris didn’t go with a more moderate Democrat like Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. The case for Shapiro mostly hinged on bolstering Democrats’ odds of winning his critical battleground state and its 19 electoral votes.

“Harris Feels the Bern and picks Walz. Thank you, Kamala!” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) wrote in a social media post, referring to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) and other progressives’ support for Walz.

“Tim Walz? What a relief,” added former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway.

Republicans were likely going to criticize any choice Harris made, of course. And Walz could still help Democrats win over rural and more conservative voters in Pennsylvania and other Midwestern states like Wisconsin and Michigan.

“One of the things that stood out to me about Tim is how his convictions on fighting for middle class families run deep,” Harris said in a statement on Tuesday. “It’s personal. As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his own. We are going to build a great partnership. We start out as underdogs but I believe together, we can win this election.”

"Congressmen attacking me on standing up for collective bargaining, fair wages, safer working conditions, for apprenticeship programs, healthcare & retirement?I'd roll the dice on that & see how it went."
Tim Walz is the perfect pick for VP to represent workers this election.

A hit job?

Quietly smother him with a pillow?
