Montonatti will be a senior next year, right? I’d bet his dad will want to coach him that final year of high school.

We’re also losing Ekanem to Houston.

Interesting. I get why the players are leaving in the portal era. And I understand Houston is a step up at this point. But losing two coaches isn’t great for continuity. Did Lutz think they didn’t mesh well together? Did the coaches not enjoy working for Lutz? Didn’t enjoy Stillwater?

Not much to Coach lol draw up perimeter plays and jack up threes or drive to the bucket if he has a 5’8” defender. Similar to one of our former coaches lol wonder what his options are going virtual, grey shirting, graduating early, etc. Jalen could be a program changer. Kid is really talented.

Could’ve been he needs a new recruiting spark or different voices? Maybe he had end of year evals and they scored low on parts or missed on several players they signed last year? Recruiting is cutthroat and borderline illegal at times. If you’re a good assistant, you tend to make more money and move up. Opposite if you’re not good

Cox went back to UTEP. Supposedly, there was a difference in coaching philosophy with Lutz. Ekanem went Houston to replace Quannas White who took a HC job. I imagine that working for Kelvin is a better gig than working for Lutz.
